attended the ex -Wardens' dinner
in Goderich yesterday noon, prior
to the annual picnic of Huron
County Council. It was the first
time that the ladies had been
invited to this event, and every-
one had an enjoyable time.

were Sunday guests with Mr. and
Mrs. W. J. Plumsteel. Dr. end

IN LOCAL AREA
Organization of the Clinton
Chapter, Order of the Eastern
Star, which has been progressing
for the past monitk, is now com-
plete. The Chapter will be of-
ficially instituted by. WGIP Ted
Phillips, Windsor, September 8.

After a delidious dinner was
served under the capable manage-
ment of Mrs. A• Nicol, a sing -song
was enjoyed accompanied by
Miss Gertrude Wilkes at the
piano. Lieut. Droumbolis of the
Salvation Rrmy was a special
guest and assisted during the
dinner hour.
Accuracy awards for 50 words
per minute were presented by
the Principal to Mis Eleanor Jef-
fery and Miss Jean Rutherford.
These were ten-minute tests and
did not exceed two errors on each
test.
Miss Eleanor Jeffery, on behalf
of the students, presented the
principal, Mrs. Weaver, with a
beautiful gift, es an expression
of their appreciation.

stop the flow of blood, he got
into his car and drove to the
United Church where Mrs. Hohn-
er was helping with the prepara-
tion of meals.
Miss A. M. Stirling administer-
ed first aid as be was quite weak
from loss of blood, and Charles
Scotohmer drove him to Clinton
for medical attention. It required
a number of stitches to close the
wound. He is recuperating at
home. His many friends wish
him a speedy recovery.
