IN DEER SEASON
Huron Fish and Gains Conser-
vation Association, at its June
meeting in the Board Room, On-
tario Agricultural Office, Monday
evening, passed a resolution that
lowed for use in the open deer
hunting season in Southern On-
tario .which, has been set for
November 5-17 next.
It was felt that if the hunt
was barred to shotguns, slugs
only be permitted.
President George L. Falconer
was ohaiman, with J. H. Murphy
acting as secretary. The next
regular meeting will 'be held in
September.
No one was successful in win-
ning the $2 draw, so this will be
increased to $4 for the September
meeting. The evening draw prizes
were won by Frank Dixon, fish
pliers; Frank' MacDonald, fish
hooks; Harry Ball, ail; and How-
ard Cowan, fish stringer.
The secretary was instructed to
write to the Ontario Department
of Lands and Forests requesting
further information regarding im-
proving 'the creek on the club's
farm for fish.
In this connection, District For-
ester I. C. Marc-itt, Hespeler, wrote
stating that the Department does
not provide the services of an
engineer for the purpose of con-
structing darns or farm ponds, and
pointing out that permission
must be granted from the Sur-
veyor -General and a permit is-
sued to cover construction.
