Hears Fine. Message
Clinton Baptist Ladies' Aid met
at the home of Mrs. William
Cochrane on Tuesday afternoon,
with Mrs. W. Aikenhead in charge,
The meeting opened by singing
"Have Thine Own Way, Lord,"
followed by the Lord's Prayer
repeated in unison. The hymn
"Jesus Saves" was sung after
which Mrs. Cochrane led in
prayer.
Following the singing of the
hymn "Break Thou the Bread of
Life", Mrs. Cochrane read the
Scripture lesson from John 8:1-10.
Mrs. J. Butler favoured with a
solo "Living for Jesus", accomp-
anied by Mrs. Aikenhead at the
piano.
The topic for the meeting was
given by Pastor Clair Clark who
gave an interesting message on
the origin and faith of one of
the smaller but well-known sects,
of our day.
The secretary -treasurer, Mrs.
Clifford, read her repots and had
the roll call answered. Articles
were sold at the meeting to raise
fund's for foreign missions. After
the business period, Miss Faye
Aikenhead sang "Sweeter as the
years go by."
The meeting closed with the
Mizpah Benediction, after which
a. dainty lunch was served by the
hostess.
Happy Birthday Party
Held at Bayfield
A very 'happy time was spent
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Fraser, Bayfield, on Satur-
day evening, May 26, when Mt .
Fraser and her twin brother,
Harvey Cooper. London, celebrat-
ed their birthday. This was the
first time since the two were
small children that (they were
able to celebrate together. A huge
birthday cake, shared by the
twins, was included in the de-
licious refreshments.
Many friends of the honoured
couple 'took advantage of the oc-
casion 'to call some time during
the weekend, including their par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Cooper,
Clinton.
HOSPITAL AUXILIARY
The regular. meetingof Clinton
Hospital Auxiliary will held
in the Council Chamber on Mon-
day afternoon, June 4, at three
o'clock. A good attendance is
requested.
