Hospital for the past five weeks
returned home last week and is

day evening, F'ebruaay 25.
Trinity WA Meets
The WA of Trinity Anglican
Church was held at the home of
Mrs. H. Webb on Thursdiay af-
ternoon of last week. The meet-
ing opened with a prayer by Mrs,
E. Heard, and the Scripture les-
son was given by Mrs. G. King.
The afternoon was spent in quilt-
ing. Lunch was served by the
hostess.

daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Spence
Hann, Kitchener, an Sunday. They
were accompanied by Ben Lyon,
Manitoba, who has been visiting
friends here.
Fred Shobbrook Ill
W We are sorry to report the ill-
ness of Fred Shobbrook, he hav-
ing taken a weak spell at his
home on Saturday last. He was
taken to the home of his daugh-
ter, Mrs. E. Knox, We wish him
a speedy recovery.
Mission Band Meets
The Mary Grierson Mission
Band held its meeting on Sunday,
February 18 in the basement of
the church veitih the president,
Muriel Shobbrook, in •the chair
and Marguerite Lynn. at the piano.
Meeting opened with call to wor-
ship and hymn 111, "Jesus Loves
Me," followed by God Save the
King end the Lord's Prayer re-
peatedin unison. The scripture
lesson was atead by Mervyn Dur-
ein. Minutes of last meeting were
read by secretary Evelyn Young.
Roll .call was answered with 40
present.
Birthday pennies were given
by Mrs. Shtaddick and Evelyn
Young. The offering was received
by Barry Pipe, Report of temp-
erance was given by Kenneth
Gaunt and World Peace by Billy
Crawford. June 'Manning favor-
ed with an instrumental. Sk was
decided to have the March meet-
ing the Easter Thankofifering,

the Township of Tuelcersmith under the Warble Fly Con-
trol Act, 1949, will be received by the undersigned up to
3 p.m., March 3, 1951.
Rate of pay will be 85 rents per hour and an al-
lowance of ten cents per mile will be made for use of car.
An additional payment of 50 cents per hour is offered by
the contractor to the Inspector for assistance.

old." There will be a cake de-
monstration. by Mrs. D, Ander-
son, and also the topic is "Some-

Londesboro WA Meets
The regular meeting of Lon-
desboro WA was held in the
Sunday School room of the
church on Thursday, Feb. 15. The
president, Mrs, B. Shobbrook, was
in charge and opened the meet-
ing with the call to worship, fol-
lowed by a hymns. The Scrip-
ture was read by Mrs, J. Craw-
ford and another hymn was sung.
The minutes of last meeting were
read and adopted. Cards of ap-
preciation were read from Marj-
orie Hunking, Mrs. A Shaddick
and Mrs. W. Brunsdon. Roll call
was answered by a gift for a
family of new Canadians. The
treasurer's report was then giv-
en. A committee was formed to
get estimates on some kitchen
equipment. Roll call for March,
"What's Your Beef." Programme
committee for March, Mrs. L.
Sundercock, Mrs. L. Webster,
Mrs. T. Allen and Mrs. J. Craw-
ford. Mrs. Tamblyn read the story
of St. Valentine and a Valentine
contest. Phyllis McCool sang e
solo and Mrs. Townsend gave a
reading, Community singing was
enjoyed. The meeting closed with
the Benediction. Lunch was serv-
ed by hostesses. There were 32
present.

Adam Stewart is spending a
few days in London visiting
friends end relatives.
Successful Euchre
A very successful euchre and
dance was held et Beird's School
on Friday, February 9, in spite
of the extremely cold weather
and bad roads. Pdtizes went to
Mas. William Pepper and Mrs.
George Baird for the ladies and
Walter Baird and Arthur Chap-
man for the gents.
Community Club Meets
The regular monthly meeting
of Stanley Community Club was
held at the home of Mrs. Johne

with the Lords Ptrayer followed'
by the secretary's and treasurer's
tepoatts and roll call. There were
20 members' present, one guest
and three children present.
During the shortbusiness per-
iod it was decided to send $10
to the Oanadiam March of Dimes.

given by Mrs. Ed Glen and Mise
Billie Stewart.
The March meeting is to tae
held at the home Of Miss Billte
Stewart and the roll Dail is to he
an Irish verse.

epjoyable lunch was served by
the hostess and her group,

erich for the eradication of Warble Flies, Tenders to
be quoted on an hourly basis. The Township to supply
the powder and send the Inspector along with the
