miles home despite the 20 -below-
zero weather. The trip took hint
about seven and one-half !fours.
Arriving at his home, where
he lives by himself, Mr. Gliddon
lit a fire and kept it burning ung
til morning, Then he crawled up
stairs to obtain a pair of crutches
and, with these, spade his way
out to his garage. Then he crank-
ed his car and drove three miles
to the home of his neighbour,
who drove him to Rosetown
Hospital,
Latest reports are that . Mr.
Glidden is resting comfortable.

John Hartley, 14, son DO Mrs.

out of sport for the season, hav-
ing fractured his left wrist at
Midget bockey practice in Lions
Arena Thursday evening last. He
was taken to Clinton Public Hos-
pital for x-ray and setting, butt
was able to return to its duties
at Clinton District Collegiate In-
stitute this week.

A recseunt of vote's in the con-
test for the reeveship of Grey
Townsbdp was held by Judge T,
M, Costello, and resulted in a tie
of 410 for each dandtdate, John
MeNab, and Clifford Rowland,
The clerk, J. H. Fear, broke
the tie by darting his ballot foe•
John MeNab, who was reeve in
1950.
In the municipal election re-
turns, Reeve IVIcNab was given
413 votes, and Mr. Rowland 411.
Recount'in Goderich
Ups Mayor's Margin
An official 'recount of ballots
cast for mayor of Goderich in
the December 12 municipal el-
ections, increased the majoilety
of J. E. Huokins from a one -
vote to a 19 vote lead over his
oppoment, W. J. Baker.
The recount, held before Hur-
on County Judge T. M. Costello,
gave Huckins 825 votes, Braker
806. The original count listed
815 votes for Huckins and 814
for Baker.
