Benson Sutter and Harvey Spading, Elimville, attended com- mittee meetings of London Con- ference YPU in Woodstock over the weekend. Miss Ruth Wilson left Saturday to spend a few days with her brother, .John Wilson, Ottawa, prior to his being posted by the RCMP to Regina. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Welsh and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Welsh„God= erich Township, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Nixon Welsh at their new home in Lambeth. Frank Fingland, Jr., has return- ed to his studies in Toronto after a week spent in New York and. at Lake Sudcess, where he met and heard several of the United Nations delegates. Mx. and Mrs. P. C, Town have taken up residence in town after residing in Toronto for a num- ber of years. They have purchas- ed the former T. P. Manning residence on High St. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Coning- hame, in company with their son, John E. Cuniaghasne, Owen Sound, motored to Toronto last week and enjoyed a short visit with relatives and friends there. PRESBYTERIAN GIRLS'. CLUB The Girls' ' Club of Clinton Presbyterian Church will hold a pot luck supper in place of the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, December 12, at 6.30 p.m. in the Sunday School room of the church. St. Paul's Friendship Club Plans Party The Friendship • Club of St. Paul's Anglican Church met on Thursday evening, November 30, at the home of Mrs. Joseph Murphy. This being the last business meeting of the year a number of items were discussed. Arrangements were made for the Christmas party which is to be held in the Parish Hall, on De- cember 13, when the ladies of the Parish Guild, Chancel Guild. and Woolen's Auxiliary are to be guests. A Christmas bale was packed for Endeavour, Sask., after which a delightful lunch was served by the hostesses: Mesdames Murphy, Cooke and Twyford. Restoration Rind Gains by Auction More than $120, to be con- tributed to 'the Restoration Fund of St. Paul's Anglican Church, was realized by the Ladies' Guild at their Christmas Auction ' Sale held in the Council Chamber on Wednesday evening last.A.ntiques, handcrafts, dishes, plants, pro- duce and furniture, all donated' by members and friends of the li organization, came under the Auctioneer's gavel. Among the knitted goods and fancy work was a five -piece luncheon set in nat- ural shade, hand-woven by the Rector of the Church, Rev. E. M. P. Bulteel. Mrs. J. M. Elliott, convener, was assisted by Mrs. M. Counter, Mrs. T. Herman, Mrs. C. Epps, Mrs. A. Kirby, Mrs. V, Roy, Mrs. R. M. P. Bulteel and Mrs. L. M. McKinnon, as well as members of the Board of Management of the church -L. Winter, V. Roy, W. Robinson, J. Livermore, H. Sloman, H. Bridle, W. N. Count- er and Rev. R. M. P. Bulteel. Auctioneer E. W.
