THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28,1050 Bantams Lose Out To Elora (By RSA) It was just -•a little too much Elora for 'Clinton Shaws in the WOAA Bantam "grand" champ- ionship series last week. • Manager Jim Chowen ; kids put up a valiant fight but fin- ally were knocked out of com- petition in the third game of the series. Clinton won the first game ,at home 12-4, but lost the second at Elora 12-9 Thursday afternoon last, and the sudden -death fix- ture 12-.7 at Listowel Saturday. The winners, who meet V heat - ley for the OBA Bantam "B" title, presented a better -balanced nine and the ability to get runs when they were needed. Shaws have had a long and successful season, winning the WOAA Bantam 'A" champion- ship. ' They proved real sports- men in the Elora .series and learned how to lose as well as• to win; they had not lost a game this year until the Elora typhoon struck. The kids may be heard from next year. Elora 12—Clinton 9 Errors at crucial times spelled disaster at Elora. Bob Carrick twirled until the fifth when Murray Maltby went in to pitch.
