COLTS WALLOP
HAPLESS ZURICH
SQUAD BY 24-6
Clinton Colts really walloped
Zurich in a Huron -Perth Base-
ball League match her Tuesday
evening, the finial spore being
24-6. Colts got an additional five
runs in the last half of the sixth,
but the umpires called the game
with two out and the score re-
verted to the end of the fifth.
What are five runs among friends,
anyway?
Tommy Pearson twirled a nice
game for Colts, but three Zurich
hurlers could net keep the lid
down. Noteworthy was a ten -
run Colt splurge in the fourth,
with the batters going a bit hay-
wire with the willow.

Bloor of Londesboro
Knocks Three Homers
(By Jack Webster)
Not only was Bloor the win-
ning pitcher when Londesboro
B -A's beat Dungannon 14-4 in
Londesboro on Tuesday night, but
he also got three home runs,
As usual the B -A's grabbed off
the lead early in the game and
held on to. it without much dif-
ficulty for the rest of the game.
Shadidck and Millar also got
homers for . the B -A's.

Londesboro Defeats
Port Albert by 9-4
(By Jack Webster)
With Taras on the mound and
given good support by his team-
mates, Londesboro B -A's defeat-
ed Port Albert 9-4 in Port Al-
bert lash Thursday night.
The B -A's grabbed off five runs
in the first inning and held the
lead all the way but at times it
looked as if Port Albert might
stage a rally. However, this was
easily nipped in the bud by the
B -A's. Chisholm and Bowden
were on the mound for Port
Albert.

LOSES TO'LUCAN
Clinton RCAF split even in two
Huron -Perth Baseball League
matches during the past ,week,
defeating St. Marys 10-2 here
Friday evening, and dropping an
extremely close decision to Lu -
can 3-2 here last evening.
The youthful Stone Town team
proved no match for the Airmen
with Drake pitching a fine game
and his teammates pounding the
ball. Thompson broke a 2-2 tie
in the fifth with a homer with
two on the sacks.

Lucan 3 -RCAF 2
Last night's game was a heart-
breaker to lose. Lucan went in-
to a 3-2 lead in the first of the
sixth after the umpires had de-
cided it would be the last frame.
In the last half, with two out,
Killam banged a wicked triple
to deep left, hut Smale failed to
connect in. a planned squeeze
play and struck out.
Worst feature from an RCAF
point of 'iew- was that their ace
hurler, Boyde, struck out 14 bat-
ters in six innings and allowed
only two safe . hits! Errors at
the wrong, time did the trick.
