Mrs. Beverly Beaton, Jr., and
baby daughter returned to their
home in Goderich on Monday af-
ter having spent several weeks
with her paernts, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Bell. B. Beaton, Jr., was

W. Reid, who has been at the
cottage for a fortnight returned

Takes Summer Course
Miss Doris McEwen spent the
weekend with her mother, Mrs.
F. W. McEwen, before leaving
on Sunday, for Salsbury Cove,
Mount Desert Island, Maine,
where she will attend the sum-
mer session at the Mount Desert
Island Biological Laboratory.
Miss McEwen who is engaged in
batanieaI cancer research at the
University of Western Ontario,
wag'awiarcled a scholarship from
the dancer Research Foundation
to study at the Mount Desert
Island Laboratory until , the 15th
of September.

Proves Successful
A very successful Stanley
Township tract meet was held
in the Agricultural Park, Bay-
field, on Friday, June 16, at
1,30 p,m.
Two hundred pupils represent-
ing ten schools, participated in
the program of sports which was
organized by Harry Nesbitt
teacher at S.S. No. 3, Stanley

The annual Decoration service
of the IOOy' was held Sunday
afternoon at Baird's Cemetery.
There was a large crowd present
to take part. Rev. E. R. Stanway
was in charge and was assisted
by William McLachlan, Mem-
bers of Hurons Rebekah Lodge
from Cllinton, were present and
assisted the Brucefield IOOF in
decorating the graves of depart-
ed members.

The regular meeting of Bruce=
field WMS was held recently in
the schoolroom ofthe church.
This was the regular Associate
Members meeting and the pro-
gram was taken by five of their
members. Mrs. W. Moffatt had
charge of the worship service.

A social evening was held in
the Porter's Hill school on Fri-
day, June 16. when friends and
neighbours gathered to honour

newlyweds. Euchre was played

low to Mrs. Austin Harris and

ling. Before lunch was served,
