sociationof Toronto is holding its
annual picnic on Friday, June
16, at High Park, just south of
floor Street, at 4 p.m., with sup-
per at 5.30 p.m. There will be
races and contests for all, Bring

Threatens FanoHouse

The electrical storm of Friday
night last played a certain amount
of havoc in the district, espec-
ially among telephone and hydro
wires.
Among other incidents report-
ed was the threat of a fire at
Elmer Potter's home when cur-
tains blazed up,from contact with
an electric cord. The flames were
put out quickly by members of
the family who were in the room

Livermore, was her sister's
bridesmaid 50 years ago, and Will
Churchill, concession 16, Goderich
Township, was ,groomsman. Both
of these people were at the 'gold-
en wedding celebration as will' as
several other guests .who were
present at the wedding a half
century ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Livermore are
faithful members" of Ontario St.
United Church, Mr. Livermore
being an elder and Mrs. Liver-
more a life, member of the WMS.
They are both members of the
Odd Fellows Order Mr. Liver-
more being a member of Clinton
Lodge IOOF' No. 83, and Mrs.
Livermore of , Huronic Rebekah
Lodge No. 306.
The Livermore's, have two
children, Ernest Livermore, K,C.,
London, and Kathleen, Reg,N.,
Mrs. Clarence Green, Grand Bend.
There are also two grandchildren,
Wilfred Livermore, London, and
Miss Audrey Green, Grand Bend.
Mr. Livermore has four sisters,
Mrs. H. Castle, . Clinton, Mrs. A.
Fawcett, Blyth, Mrs. R. Bezzo,
London, and Mrs. J. Leith, Ham-
ilton. Mrs. Livermore has one
sister, Mrs. E. Jackson, and one
brother, John Marshall, both of
whom make their home with her.
Committees representing both
branches of the Odd Fellows
order in Clinton met at the Liv-
ermore home on Saturday even-
ing, coming to felecitate them
prior to their golden wedding.
Benson Sutter, Noble Grand of
Clinton Lodge, offered the con-
gratulations of both lodges on
this auspicious occasion and
wished them many more years
of wedded happiness, and Mrs.
Benson Sutter, Noble Grand of
Huronic Rebekah Lodge, present-
ed the honoured couple with a
lovely reading lamp.
Although completely . taken by
surprise Mr. and Mrs. Livermore
expressed their. appreciation for
the thoughtfulness and later serv-
ed a' cup of tea and dainty re-
freshments.
Mr. and Mrs. Livermore were
at home to all their relatives,
numbering about 125, on Sun-
day a n d were assisted by
Mrs. Jean Steinburg, Mrs. W.
Burton, Mrs. Percy Livermore,
Mrs. John Livermore, Mrs. C. J.
Livermore, Mrs. Viola Lampman
and Mrs. Clarence Green.
A public reception was held
at their home on Tuesda§ after-
noon and evening when over 100
took the opportunity of calling
and extending hearty congratula-
tions. For this happy occasion,
the bride of 50 years chose a
frock of heavenly blue crepe with
a corsage of roses and lily -of -the -
valley. They were assisted by

Jean Steinburg, Miss Margaret

Londesboro BA's gained an-
other victory on Tuesday night
when they handed a 27-10 defeat
to Dungannon at Dungannon in
the WOAA softball series.
Bloor and Carter were on the.
mound for the BA'S while Hac-
kett and Caesar pitched for Dun-
gannon.
Londesboro BA's handed out a
6-3 defeat to Port Albert in a
scheduled game in the WOAA
Intermediate "C" group 2 soft-
ball series played in Londesboro
last Thursday night.
Chisholm was on the mound
for Port Albert while Taros pitch-
ed for Londesboro.

Mr. and Mrs. William Henry,
Brucefield, attended Convocation
ceremonies held at UWO, London,
on Saturday, when their son.
Cameron Henry, received his BA
degree in Honor English and
Philosophy, and the gold medal"
for highest marks in his year.
Mr. Henry has been granted
a teaching fellowship with the
department of Philosophy at the
University of Western Ontario.
The award is $500 plus tuition.
Mr. Henry will do postgraduate
work next year at the University,.
Another of the earlier home-
steads of Huron County changed
hands recently when T,R. Jenkins
sold iris farm on the Huron Road
West, to his brother, E.J. Jenkins,
Ottawa, who expects to make his
residence there in the' near
future,

lowing w ng provisions of the Sewerage By -Laws:
By -Law No. 12 for 1944, ParagraphpNo
reads in part as follows:
1, which
"That the installation of a system for the disposal
of sewerage from properties within the territorial limits
of the Town and the drainage of water from the cellars
within the Municipality (hut not including the drainage
of surface water or drainage froth eavetroughs) . . ,"
By -Law No. 7 for 1950, Paragraph No, 4, which
reads as follows:
"That any person desiring a sewerage connection
shall apply at the office of the Superintendent of the
Public, Utilities Commission. The applicant shall sign
an application .prescribed by the Council for that pur-
pose. The installation shall be under the supervision
of the Superintendent of the Public Utilities Commission,
and shall in all matters of materials and workmanship
conform to such standards and methods of installation
las may be determined, No person shall tap into a
main without such permit.
"That all persons who have heretofore had a con-
nection made to the common sewer, shall, on the request
of the Superintendent of the Public Utilities Commission,
supply, a diagram and such particulars of such connection
as the Superintendent may require,"
