The regular monthly meeting
of Clinton Women's Institute was
held in the Board Room of the
Agricultural Office Thursday af-
ternoon last. Mrs. Sturdy, the
president, oc upied the chair.
After the usual opening exercises
the' secretary, Mrs. Adams, read
the minutes and correspondence.
The roll call was answered by
an "Irish Joke."
Business matters were discus-
sed. It was decided that the
members would take a bus tour
to Toronto at a later date.
Transportation committee ap-
pointed were: Mrs. Batkin, Mrs.
Groves and Mrs. Leppington.
Several articles of clothing' were
brought in for overseas bale.
Reports of standing conveners
were given. Finance convener,'
Mrs. Batkin reported the proceeds
from a quilting and tea, also a
card party. Four members Mink -
ed their Sunshine Sisters for gifts
received on their birthdays.
Mrs. M. Nediger sang two very

Holy Week Services
Schedule Announced
The Ministerial Association of
Clinton has arranged for three
Holy Week services, in order to
give the people of the community
the opportunity of remembering
the last messages of the Christ,
during that week of His earthly
ministry. It is hoped that many
will deer} it a privilege to at-
tend these hours of worship.
The following schedule will be
carried out: Wednesday, April
5-8 p.m., Ontario St. United
Church, Rev. D. 3. Lane, speaker;
Thursday,. April 6-8 p.m., Pres-
byterian Church, Rev. W. J.
Woolfrey; Friday, April 7-10,30
a.m. St. Paul's Anglican Church,
Rev. R. M. P. Buiteel.
Everyone is welcome.
The Ladies' Aid of Clinton
Baptist Church held its Marsh
meeting at the home of Mrs.
Robert Gemmell, with Mrs. Coch-
rane, vice-president, in the chair.
The hymn, "What a Friend •we
have in Jesus," was sung, follow-
ed by the Lord's Prayer repeat-
ed in unison. Mrs. Cochrane read
the Scripture Lesson from John
14, and also read a poem, The
secretary -treasurer, Mrs. Clif-
ford, gave her repotrs and the
roll call was answered.
Mrs. Gemmell gave an inter-
esting topic, speaking on the
Grand Ligne Missions. Two Bible
Quizzes were held, Mrs. Roberts
being in charge. The meeting
was brought to a close after the
business had been dealt with, and
a dainty lunch was served by
the hostess.
