Stewart and William E. Parker motored to Woodstock on Wednesday and brought back 75 nesting chairs for the new parish hall. Miss Barbara Bassett, London, was, home for Christmas. Mr .and Mrs. Oddliefson, Lond- on, have been at their home on Main Street for a few days: aVir, and Mrs, G. Koehler, Zur- ich, spent Christmas with their sisters, Misses. F. and E. Fowlie. Mrs. J. McKenzie returned home from Chicago on Tuesday where she had beenvisiting her daugh- ter. Charles ,Guest, Toronto, spent several days last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blair. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Parker, Varna, are staying with their daughter, Mrs. Keith Brandon and family. Miss Helen Blair, who is atten- ding Teacher's College in Lend - don is home for the Christmas holidays. Miss Jessie Metcalf left on Wednesday to visit her brother, William and Mrs. Metcalf, Mont- real, for a few days, Mr. and Mrs. W. Sturgeon and Glen visited with their daughter, Mrs. Gordon Stewart and family, Ripley over Cluistmas, Thomas Murphy, bus driver for CD.CI pupils, was entertaining his passengers at a dance in the Hay- field town hall last night. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Heard, London; Mr. and Mrs. W. Pitblado, Toronto, spent Christmas with the ladies' father, H. N. Brandon. F/O and Mrs. Andre Tome, and, baby Michael, Egmondville;" were with Mr. and Mrs. L. H. D. Mac- Leod from Friday until Tuesday. Miss Mavis Leonard and Doug- las Phillip, Toronto, were guests of the former's brother, Keith Leonard and family on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Featherston, London, and Keith Leonard, Tor- onto, were with Mrs. Leonard and family for Christmas:. The twins, Sonya and Linda went to London to spend the week with their grandparents. Baby Christine Adams was able to return home from Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, God- erich, on Wednesday of last week. Mrs. D. Dewar spent Christmas with Mrs. ; G Wheatley, Clinton and also visited iter sister, Mrs, J. Moffat, Varna, before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Poth and Ronald also celebrated Christmas in New Dundee on Monday with the former's parents, Mr, and Mrs. Fred Poth. Mrs. N. W. Woods, Miss Lucy R. Woods and J. L. Buchan, were the guests of Mr. and MPs, R. H. Middleton, Hensall, from Cnrust- mas Day until Wednesday. Miss Ellen MacKay, civilian of- fice worker with RCAF Station Clinton, returned to her duties on Wednesday after having been home for a week due to illness. Master Phillip Turner accomp- anied his uncle Thomas Arkell and family on their return to Hamilton on Monday where he will spend the Christmas vacation. Mrs. William R. Jowett, Goder- ich, waswith her daughter, Mrs. Leroy Poth from Friday to Mon- day, onday, when she went to Elmira to visit her younger daughter, Mrs. E, W. Kendall. Mr. and Mrs, Thomas Arkell, Joanne and Kenny, Hamilton; Mr. and Mrs. ,Donald Saeger, Clare and Nicky, Goderich; Ken Arkell, Waterloo, were, with their parents, Mr, and Mrs. F. P. Arkell over. Wiltse. The meet- ing was brought to order by the president with the singing of "Hark the Herald Angels Sing", followed by the creed. Thirteen members and one visit- or answered the roll call. All took. part in singing Christmas carols. Mrs. Roy Plumsteel had charge of the mystery box which was won! by Mrs.: E. Welsh: • The election of officers for the following year was held with Mrs. M. Wiltse in charge. President is MTs. William Wat- kins; first vice-president, blas. Kenneth Bennett; second vice- president, Mrs. Harry Plumsteel; third vice-president, Mrs. J. REBEKAfIS WILL BESET ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4 The January meeting of the I-Iuronic Rebekah Lodge will be held Wednesday night, January 4, rather than on the regular night, January 2. The Christmas meeting of the Clintonian Club met at the home of the new president, Mrs. E. Epps, Mrs, MVianaghan conducted the first part of the meeting dur- ing which 35 members answered roll call, Mrs. Epps' offer of the use of her recreation room for winter meetings was gratefully accepted, Mrs. Epps, the new president, then took charge. A sing -song and a Christmas puzzle nvere enjoyed. Games and program were in the charge of Mrs. Jack Smith and Mrs. John Butler. Readings were given by Mrs. G. Glazier, Mrs. Epps and Mrs. W. Coiclough, Refreshments were served by the hostess, Mrs. Colclough and her assistants. Gifts were dist- ributed from a well -laden tree. Meeting closed with benediction.
