Polnsetta Party Loaf
(Makes 10 to 12 Servings)
3 sandwich fillings of your
choice
3 packages softened white
cream cheese
cup cream
1 loaf =sliced, bread
softened butter
First of all prepare the three
sandwich fillings. Then make the
cream cheese frostening by cream-
ing the cheese with a wooden
spoon until light and fluffy. Add
cream to the cheese until it is
the right consistency for spread-
ing, Set aside.
Trim off all the crusts from the
top, bottom and sides of the loaf.
Then slice it lengthwise into Toile
even slices about Vs incl, thick
Spread the bottom slice with sof-
tened butter and the first filling.
Continue this with eaeh sliee us-
ing the three fillings. Then place
the slices on top of each other
leaving the, last slice without any
filling. When the slices are Stack-
ed,
tacked, smooth off the sides of loaf
to remove any excess filling. Frost
the top and sides of the loaf with
the blended cream cheese. Decor-
ate with a poinsetta on the top
made with pimiento for flower
and green pepper strips for leav-
en. Chill for several hours before
serving.
Suggested Fillings
1. Diced hard cooked eggs with
minced onion, moistened with
mayonnaise.
2. Diced chicken or turkey and
diced celery combined with a
little mayonnaise.
3. Soft cream cheese with chop-
ped olives and pimiento,
4, Pimiento' cream cheese and a
little diced green pepper or
chopped parsley.
5. 1VIinced ham and finely diced
celery moinstened with a lit-
tle prepared mustard or sweet
mustard relish.
