Had Fall Meeting
Thi September meeting of the
Wesley -Willis Woman's Associat-
ion was held in the Church Par-
lor on Thursday afternoon, with
the president, Mrs, •F. Andrews
presiding, •
The meeting opened With the
singing of the theme song follow-
ed by the Lord's Prayer.
The devotional period opened
with a hymn, after which Mrs. D.
Laidlaw read the scripture, lesson.
The lesson thoughts were given
by Mrs. R. Jenkins, and Miss I.
Walkinshaw led in prayer,
Mrs. Shepherd read a very in-
teresting story called "The Long
View". It: was decided to leave
until the next meeting plans for
the Oetobert fair. Meeting closed
with a hymn and the Mizpah ben-
ediction.
Lunch was served by Mrs. J.
Nediger's group.

Mrs: N. E. Cook entertained at
a trousseau ,tea. on Saturday af-
ternoon and evening in• nonor of
her daughter, Eleanor Jane who is
a bride of this week. In the after-
noon Eleanor and Mrs. Cook re-
ceived the guests in theliving
room.
Mrs. William Alexander and
Mrs., Allan Fraser 'poured tea at
a table beautifully decorated in
pink and white, while Mrs. How-
ard Scene and Mrs. Robert Cook
served. Those looking after Miss
Eleanor Cook's trousseau and gifts
were Mrs. John Alexander and
Miss Marion Gray.
In the evening Miss Ina Gray
and Mrs. George Armstrong pour-
ed tea while Miss Betty Mickle
and Miss Jean Armstrong served,
Mrs. Robert Cook and' Miss Mar-
ion Gray displayed the gifts and
trousseau. Mrs, -William Hopper,

Anniversary
Well Attended
`Large congregations attended
the anniversary services held at
Goshen United Church last Sun-
day. Both morning and evening
services were under the direction
of the minister Rev, T. J. Pitt
with Rev, H, Snell of James Street
Church, Exeter, a guest preacher.
The sermons "Who is Jesus
Christ?" and "Why are we hear?"
were heard with great interest
and were very helpful. The latter
had references to why people go
to church.
The choir with Mrs. Bruce Heys
as organist rendered many special
numbers Instrumental duets were
given by Mrs. Clare McBride and
Mrs. William Taylor, A vocal duet
was sung by Mrs. Elmore Keyes
and Mrs. Richard Robinson, A
quartet composed of Mrs. Elmer
Hayter, Mrs, Elmore Keyes, Rich-
ard Robinson and Roy. McBride
sang.
Flowers, placed in the church
for the occasion were very beauti-
fu1 and added to the impressive
services.

The Sunday School executive of
Ontario Street. United Church met
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
William Hoggart with 17 members
present and the superintendent,
R. B. Elliott presiding. Miss S.
Courtice offered prayer after the
opening hymn.
The date for rally. day was set
for Sunday, September 11, with
the children to be* in their classes
at 10.45 a.m. and the guest speak-
er at 11 will be Rev. A, G. Eagle.
Teachers are asked to help Miss
Grant with decorations on Satur-
day evening, 7.30 p.m.
Throughout the month of Sept-
ember, Sunday School will begin
at 9.45 d,m.
On Wednesday, October 12 the
Sunday School Institute will meet
at Belgrave for afternoon and
evening sessions, and all teachers
are asked to be present.
