was :awakened by the smell of
smoke drifting in her window. At
the same time F/0 Robert Wilson
and S/L Thorne Spear awakened
in nearby cottages. They went
with LeRoy Poth to the scene and
watched it until the ` stack was
burned and they saw that it would
not spread in the stubble.
It is felt that the stack was
deliberately set on fire as it was
too far from the road to have
been ignited by a cigarette butt,
carelessly tossed out by a passing
motorist, and too much out in the
open for anyone to have been
sleeping there, ' --
It would be well for persons who
consider this a joke, or delight in
seeing a blaze, . to remember the
old adage, "He who plays with
fire, may be burnt."
