Recently Mr. - and Mrs.- Carl
East, -Toronto and Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Cuninghame, Clinton,` en-
joyed a few days at their Nimrods
Cabin at Baie-De,Dore, but the
stress of Hurricane Connie so dis-
turbed the waters of the bay that

Mr's, Jack A. Horton, the/former
Sadie Waiters,- Tuckersmith, left
for her home in Dodsland,; Sask.,
after spending the last .six' week's
with her mother, Mrs. Helen Dal-
rymple and other friends. She also
visited her brother, William Walt-
ers, who was ill and who passed.

School held their annual picnic at
Jowett's Grove, Bayfield on Thurs-
- ay, August 11, with quite a good
attendance., A full line of sports

game of ball. .The usual picnic sup-
per brought the afternoon to a

After Meeting
The regular meeting of the Hu-
ron Road Ilappy Workers Club
was held in the evening on August
11 at the home of Mrs. Warren
Gibbings.
With Mrs. 'Cliff Glazier presid-
ing and Mrs. William Holland as
pianist the meeting opened by
singing "The Old Rugged Cross",
followed by the repeating of the
Lord's Prayer.' The minutes of
the last meeting were read by the
secretary, Mrs. John Smith, and
the treasurer's report was given
by Mrs. Wi Glazier.
The roll call "What is my favor-
ite animal?" was answered by the
members present. After a brief
business period the meeting was
adjourned by singing "God Save
the Queen",
The remainder of the evening
was spent in . quilting after which
a dehciqus pot -luck lunch was
served by the hostess assisted by
Mrs. Joseph Gibson and Mrs. Ken-
neth Williams.

Active Month; Four Kids Never Missed

The church' of the Transfigur-
atiern (Anglican) Toronto,- decor-
ated with standards of white glad-
ioli and foliage and candelabra
was the setting for a pretty wed-
ding on Saturday afternoon, Aug-
ust 6, when Sarah Patricia Trent,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F.
Trant, Font Hill (formerly of
Toronto) was united in marriage
to Donald Hugh Ross, son of Mrs.
Ross, Auburn and the late Fred-
erick
rederick Ross.
Rev, Gordon Baker, officiated.
G. W. Evans, Oakville played the
traditional wedding music and ac-
companied the soloist Ronald
Stewart, Clarkson, who sang "The
Lord's Prayer" before the cere-
mony. and "O Promise Me" during
the signing of the register.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was charming in a
floor -length gown of chantilly lace
and tulle fashioned with a scooped
neckline and short sleeves, bouff-
ant skirt with lace appliques and
long lace mitts. Her finger-tip
veil was caught to a juli,et lace
headdress. She carried a white
prayer book covered with demure

At the reception in the church
hall for 120 guests, the bride's
mother wore teal blue lace over
tafetta, a lilac pink hat and gloves
and corsage of pink roses. The
groom's mother chose dusty rose
lace and crepe with navy access-
ories, and an orchid and carnation
corsage.
For going away the bride chose
a white sheath dress with match-
ing duster coat, and white access-
ories. Following a wedding trip
to the Maritimes` and New Eng-
land State the bridal couple will
reside in Oakville where the
groom is principal of Westwood
school.
Guests were present from Mon-
treal, Galt; Peterboro, Lakefield,
Ehnvale, Listowel, Sundridge, St.
