mony, Mrs. Harvey Brown, church
organist, played the ived'ding mu-
sic and accompanied George Turn-
er, Seaforth, who sang, "0 Per-
fect Love" and "Because.!'
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a floor -length gown
of nylon tulle and net over satin,
fashioned; with : softly moulded
bodice, portrait neckline, lily -point
sleeves, rows of tiny buttons from
neckline to waist, bodice and
sleeves of French. Chantilly lace,
and sequin appliqued in rose de-
sign, The bouffant skirt was of
nylon Julie over satin, With the
same appliqued motif carried out
in the skirt, falling to a slight
train. Her headdress was a crown
of seed pearls and irritlescent se-
quins held a finger-tip illusion veil.
She wore rhinestone earrings 'and
necklace, the gift of the groom,
and carried a bouquet of red roses
designed in a star with silver
ribbon
Miss --Doris Stevens, Walton,
sister of the bride, was maid of
honour, choosing a ballerina -length
gown of white and yellow net over
white satin, with a fitted bodice
trimmed with yellow embroidered

The reception followed in the
basement . of the church : where
baskets of gladiolus and mauve
and yellow streamers formed an
attractive setting. Receiving the
guests was the bride's mother
wearing a navy blue sheer dress
trimmed with rhinestones and
white accessories with a corsage of
pink carnations. The groom's
mother wore navy blue sheer with
pink and navy accessories and
wore a corsage of pink carnations.
Those assisting atthe- tables
were Mrs. Stewart Wilson, Mrs.
Vern. Alderdice, Miss Joan Ryan,,
and Miss Helen Johnson.
The couple left midst showers
of confetti on a wedding trip to
Northern Ontario after which they
plan to reside on the bridegroom's
farm .in Tuckersmith Township.
The bride chose a dusty rose
dress with white accessories and
wore a corsage of pink carnations
for travelling.
Guests were present from Lon-
desboro, Seaforth, Kipper, Bruce -
field, Blyth, Clinton and Walton.
The bride is a former graduate
of Stratford Normal School and
present teacher at SS 3, Tucker -
smith, just east of Brucefield,
R; Lane; Toronto, the bride wore
a ballerina -length gown of nylon
tulle and lace over satin fash-
ioned with lily point sleeves. A
coronet headdress of pearls and
sequins held her veil of French
illusion and.. she carried'a white
prayer book crested with an or-.
Preparation for the movement
back -to -school, is beinganticipated
at both schools in town.
. At the public school, Percy Liv-
ermore is getting a good deal of
Work done, and when . we called
on him early this -week, he was
putting a coat of "sealer" on the
auditorium floor to protect the
surface from' the hundreds of
scurrying feet, which will soon be
there.
Contractors have been busy er-
ecting the new stage in the aud-
itorium. The' space under the
stage itself is being utilized as a
storage space for the carts bear-
ing stacked chairs from the audi-
torium, so that the floor of the
area will be free for recreation
purposes. Completion of the
dressing -room areas, and the erec-
tion of curtains and foot -lights are
not being contemplated in the im-
mediate future.
The sports committee of the
school board has been at work
getting back -stops up for the pro-
posed four ball diamonds --one in
each corner of the large playing
area. Still other men have been
putting in a sink in the kinder-
garten room.
At- the high school, new furni-
ture has been installed in the ag-
riculture instruction room, which
includes Sinks 'and storage space
for experimental materials. Bill
Craig, teacher of shop at the
school is installing partitions so
that a drafting and finishing room
are provided in the new shop
room. Caretaker Lawrence Den -
mine is finding plenty of clean-
ing -up to do,. even though school
is not in session. •

EXECUTIVE MEETS
The regular monthly meeting of
the Ontario Street United Church
Sunday School executive was held
at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Fran-
cis Powell on Thursday evening,
August 4, During the business
period, plans were made for the
congregational picnic to be held on
Wednesday, August 10. A social
half hour followed the meeting and
lunch was served.
