Regular Visits
To County Horne
At the February meeting of the
Women's Auxiliary of RCAF Stat-
ion Clinton,- on Monday, four lad-
ies volunteered to continue the
regular visits to the Huron County
Home. They are; Mrs, Foreman
and Mrs, Barnett; Mrs. Young and
Mrs. Reid.
A group of honorary members
were welcomed to 'the" meeting.
The, ladies of the WA are always
pleased to see these ladies attend-
ing, and will welcome any wives of
the honorary members of any of
the three messes on the Station,
They are ell' automatically mem-
bers of the Woman's Auxiliary.
(The next meeting will be on
March 7). ;
Pantry shelf bingo was enjoyed
after the meeting, and, then cof-
fee and sandwiches were served
under the convenership of Mrs.

About 125 -Youngsters of Ontario
Street Sunday School took pard; in
an 'old-fashioned sleighride last
Wednesday, and despite the frigid
Weather, definitely enjoyed this
once -popular mode of travel.
Supper was served in the school
room of the church, and parents,
teachers and officers joined in.
Rev: A. G., Eagle showed pictures.
Afterwards the executive held
the: regular monthly meeting; which
was presided over by superintend-
ent Robert Elliott. Stan McDon-
ald read the lesson. Mrs. M. Bat -
kin was installed as teacher of a
primary class. The new study
book, "Teachers of Religion" was
chosen.
Before the march'meeting, each,
teacher was asked to submit a list
of requirements for her classroom
in the new building. The treasur-
er; submitted a report showing
$89 57 on hand, 'and g collection
was taken to take care of expen-
ses for gifts.: Lunch was served
by the Adult Class.:

Fireside Night
An' -interdenominational fireside
evening was held in Ontario Street'
United Church last Sunday' even-
ing, with Wesley -Willis United,
St. Andrew's Presbyterian, St
Paul's Anglican and. Christian Re-
formed Church young people as
guests.
The recreation, period was in
the charge of the Ontario Street
group. Wesley -Willis YPU had
charge of the devotional period
and .Miss Hazel Sperling. London,
was guest soloist.

About 35 young people attended
the interdenominational Fireside
gathering •held in St. Andrew's
United Church on. Sunday evening.
'Oper, tion Friendship was un-
der the Mirection of Miss Margaret
Holland, Clinton, of Area B of the
United Church Young People's
Union of Huron Presbytery.
After a hymn "sing' Bob Cluff
read the Scripture from St, John,
chapter 15,
Miss' Holland introduced the
special speaker, Gordon Donaldson,
London, formerly of Texas, who
gave a splendid address on "Fel-
lowship with God."
The meeting closed with the
singing of a hymn and the bene-
diction pronounced by the Rev.Peter 'Renner.

uary 26. A very enjoyable even-
ing was spent in contests and :a
mock weddingwas staged with
Mrs. Louis Freeman as the bride;
Mrs, W., S. Gliddon as groom; Mrs.
Robert 'Carter as the Minister;
Mrs..Thomas Deeves, father of the
bride; Mrs. Joseph Steep as flower -
girl,
Mrs. Dennis Bisback entertained
with several mouthorgan numbers.
The bride-to-be found her gifts by
folowing ribbons from her chair.
The address to' Miss Freemae was
read by Mrs. Norman Tyndall,
.Afterwards a .delicious lunch was
served. Mrs. Fred Miller assisted
the hostess.

Valentine Tea
The February meeting of the
Ontario Street United Church
Women's Missionary Society was
held in the church hall on Tues-
day, February 8, with a good at-
tendance. Mrs. Ray Fear conduc-
ted the devotional exercises and
the study book was taken by Mrs.
W., J. VanEgmond.
Mrs. A. G. Eagle gave a hum-
orous reading. Mrs. Don Symons
and Mrs. VanEgmond favoured
with a duet. At the close of the
meeting a Valentine Tea was ser-
ved by members of the executive.

The weather last Saturday af-
ternoon "was nothing to write
home about," but the girls' auxil-
iary' of St, Paul's Church had a
most enjoyable Valentine Tea at
the rectory, with gay decorations
of hearts, cupids red candles, etc.,
and a tea table festooned with ivy
and centred with Forsythia, red
tulips and, candles:
Pouring tea were members of
the Senior Auxiliary, Mrs. C. H.
Epps, Mrs. , McKinnon Mrs. E.
Hudie -and 4s°: II. Bartllff. Mrs.
Bird presided `in the kitchen and
the girls serving were; Barbara
Jones, Audrey McDonald Winnie
Bird, Darlene Stanley, Silvia Bell,
Margaret Steinburg, Margaret Mc-
Clelland and Jane Woods.
Quite a nice sum was realized
from the sale of shell work, hats,
bags, sewing cases, aprons, bootees,
etc,

Willis Woman's Association enjoy-
ed a bounteous pot -luck supper on
Wednesday evening, February 2;
in the Sunday Schoolroom;
The theme song and hymn
"What a Friend We Have In Jes-
us" opened the meeting conducted
by the president, Mrs. Frank An-
drews. Devotional topics were
taken by -Mrs. Miller, Mrs. F. Fing-
land and Mrs. Jervis: The var-
ious reports of committees were
approved. Mrs. McLaren gave as
a reading "The Irresistible Power
of Divine Love."
The main feature of the even-,
ipg were colored pictures shown
by Kelvin Jervis, taking in the,
beauty of our own Northern On-
tario, scenic Clinton and the sun-
rise service and camping outings
of the local. Young: .People's Un-
ion. A vote of appreciation was
voiced by Mrs. Charles Nelson to
Kelvin for sharing his beautiful
pictures. A hymn and,. the bene-
diction closed the meeting. '.
Members are. asked to please
keep in 'mind; the St. Patrick's
Tea in March.

Ladies Club Will
View U.K. Slides
The regular meeting of the
Tuckersmith Ladies' Club was held
at the home of Mrs. Christina
Brown last Wednesday afternoon,
February 2, with a fair attendance.
The meeting opened . with the.
"Ode" followed by the Lord's.
Prayer.
"Love's Old Sweet Song" was
sung, followedby the reading of
the minutes. The .roll call, "A
Valentine Verse" was answered by
ten members and four visitors.
Several thank -you' letters were
read including one from Mr. and
Mrs. Seldon Ross and family.
Business was discussed and plans
were -made for a social evening to
be held on February 11 at Turn-
er's Church, when Bob Allan will
show films on his recent trip to
the British Isles.
Mrs. Howard Johns gave a hum-
orous reading entitled "Petruchio."
Mrs. Don Crich conducted a Val-
entine contest and Mrs. Ernie
Crich a knitting contest which was
won by Mrs. Bert 'Garrett.
The meeting closed by singing,
"Good Night Ladies," and repeat-
ing the Homemaker's Prayer.
Lunch was served by the host-
ess and members of group 1.
Stanley Club
Party Tomorrow
The ladies of the Stanley Com-
munity Club . held their February,
meeting at the home of Mrs. Clif-
ford Stewart, with ten members,
two visitors and two chilldren
present. The meeting opened by
all repeating the Lord's Prayer.
This was followed by the secre-
tary's report and the roll call was
answered by "my favourite supper
dish."
The treasurer gave her report,
then the collection was taken
amounting to. 3.65. Business dis-
cussion followed. A party was
planned for February 11. A flow-
er was to be sent to Mrs. Marg-
aret Stevens who has been sick, A
valentine impromptu program 1 fol-
lowed.
The next meeting is to be held
