Cooper, Clinton. She is the oldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Ellison, Clinton, and her husband is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs, Joe Cooper, Clinton, Rev. Edward T. Sawyers officiated at the ceremony. When 13 years of age, Mr. Coop- er commenced his career at the organ factory in Clinton. Today, 56 years later, and using the same form of conveyance, a bicycle, he goes to and fro to the same factory, now the Sherlock - Manning Piano Co, Ltd, Having always resided in Clin- ton, Mr. and Mrs. Cooper are re- siding in the old Cooper home in which the former was born. The couple enjoy excellent health and are members of Wesley -Willis United Church, Clinton, where Mrs. Cooper is a member of the Woman's Association. Polly Jervis Is New President Of Ontario St YPUS The Ontario Street ` United Church Young People held their regular meeting on Tuesday even- ing, in the form of a Thanksgiving meeting. Maryln Potter read the Scrip- ture from Psalm 95. Polly Jervis led in prayer. Joan Thompson Stan McDonald led the respon- sive reading and also took the topic. He told how the original Thanksgiving was observed and of the original customs. He noted that "Wein Canada have a great deal for which to be thankful, liv- ing in a Iand such as ours. There are many who observe it as a mere holiday when it should be a day of praise and thanksgiving." The worship service closed with a hymn and prayer. read a poem on Thanksgiving. The business period was ' con- ducted by the president, Stan Mc- Donald, with the secretary, Joan Thompson reading the minutes of the last meeting.
