Grace Church Picnic
The spacious lawn of Mr. arid
'Mrs. Wilmer Harrison's residence
proved an ideal location for the
- annual picnic of the Sunday School
,of Grace Church on Tuesday even-

story about fishermen.

The July meeting of the Sum-
merhill Ladies' Club was held at
the home of Mrs. Charles Merrill
with 22 members and five visitors
present. - The meeting was opened
by singing "Blest Be the Tie that
Binds' followed by the Lord's
Prayer in unison. ,
Thank-you's were received from
Mrs. Sid Lansing, Mrs. Rosa Lov-
ett, Mrs. Greydanus, Ken Ranson,
Mrs. Johnston and Mr. and Mrs.
William Stephenson.
The community picnic was held
on July 23 at the Lions Park,
Seaforth. The program consisted
of a place contest conducted by
Mrs. William Blacker and won by
Phyllis Vodden. This was follow-
ed b ya solo by Master Billy Vod-
den. The raffle was won by Mrs.
Ross Lovett.
The August meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. Ross Lovett.
The program committee will be
Mrs. Russell Good, Mrs. Wesley
Hoggart, Mrs. Ross Lovett and
Mrs. William Lovett. The lunch
committee will be Mrs. N. Wright,
Mrs. Wes Vodden, Mrs. George

all the local churches, next Sunday
when former ministers will reach.
At Knox United Church, Rev.
A. E. Milson, Bright's Grove, will
preach and a male choir will pro-
vide special music.
At Knox Presbyterian Church,
Rev. H. A. Pritchard, Rodney, will
be the guest speaker and soloists
will be Bertha Bonthron, Hensall;
Harvey McGee, North Bay.
At St. Mark's Anglican Church,
Mrs. George Gray, Toronto, will
be guest soloist.
At the Baptist Church, Rev,
William Raithby, Strathroy, a for-
mer Auburn boy, will be the guest
speaker and the choir will provide
special music.
The services will all start at
11 a.m. .
At three o'clock in the afternoon
there will be a memorial service
at Ball's Cemetery, including mili-
tary memorial observance by vet-
erans. R,ev. W. J. Maines, Bruce -
field, will preach and the visiting
and local ministers will assist. The
organist will be Mrs. Ella Donald-
son, Goderich, granddaughter of
the late Eneas Elkin, and Jim
Jackson will be bugler,
At 8 p.m, a sacred band concert
by the Brodhagen Band will be
held at the 'Athletic Grounds.
There will be hymn singing and
short address of farewell,
WINGHAM'S DECORATIONS
FOR 75th ANNIVERSARY
The town's anniversary decora-
tions, which have already been
drawing admiring glances from
visitors and townspeople alike,,
have been put up on the west side
of Josephine Street, and will be
erected on the east side of the
street as stain as faving has been
completed. About 60 wagon wheels
painted in gay pastel colors, will
be used, as well as 16 birthday
cake signs, painted by Mrs. W. B.
McCool, and six large keys with
the slogan "key to a good time."
