Mr. Andrew W?llianlson, an old and
respected resident of town, dropped
dead on the street on Wednesday' of
last week. He had apparently 'Seen
in usual health and had been ehat-
ting to a passerby a few moments
before he fell. The funeral took
place' on Friday, interment baking
place • in Me R. C. cemetery, Col-
borne. ;
A pleasant farewell ga.the•ring was
held at North street parsonage one
evening' lasts week, when many of the
older members of the cngregation re-
-called reminiscences of former days,
and letters were read from several of
the Former pastors. The old build-
ing will be taken down and a new
and up-to-date re ildence built on its
site.

cis Swann was transferred from the
London 'too the British Colombia• Con-
ference. The transfer was made at
the earnest request of Mr. Swann,
who lefts Beigden to' take charge of
the mission station at Kitantaat, 13.
C. He was aecompanied on his
journey-; west by Mrs. Swann) who
'has been appointed assistant superin-
tendent of the mission. They will bo
assisted in the work by Mr, Swann's
sister, Miss Swann„ who was sena
to leitamaat a year or so ago by
the W. M. S. Mr, Swann was pastor
of the Dungannon circuit for two
years and is well known in Huron.,
Lucknow.
Walter Sturdy, an employe ,in the
Lucknow furniture factory, had c•ne
hand split between two fingers and
down the back as far as the vrist
by a swing circular saw which 1
was operating. In some nnKiown'

very wide board, inflicting a wound
which is one of the wors4 yet sus-

The Maitland overflowed its banks
and flooded the louver floor , of the
mill, the water being higher than in

flume, etc., causing several hundred
dollars worth of damage.

sous accident one day recently. JIn
was driving a livery horse and lead-
ing another animal which he had
bought along the Zurich Road when
a dog ran out and ' frightened the an-
imals. The horses ran away drag-
ging him from the rig and then both
got away.The buggy was wrecked
and -Mr, Simon was pretty badly
bruised and broken. He was later
taken home in Dr. Campbells auto.

ners„ $3 ; choice butcher cows, firm,
at $6. to, $6.50 ; bulls, $5 to $6.25:
Stockers -Steady demand, at $5.25
to $6 for good quality ; extra choice
heavy feeders, $6.25 to $6.50.
