Turnbull, who has been pastor of West Presbyterian Church, Toronto, for over 30 years, re- cently asked Isis congregation to lied a successor to him, as he believed a younger man was now needed for the congregation. He has passed his 66th year, and 'during his pastorate the church has greatly prospered: His congregation are so warmly attached to him that they declared that on 00 ac- count would they allow 111m to resign. .A congregational meeting was held the other evening, when it was decided that a colleague pastor be appointed, and Mr. Turnbull's salary be increasaed Irons $2,500 to 55,000; the colleague pastor to succeed to the pastorate at the end of two years, at which time Dr. Turnbull shall become Paster - emeritus for life.
