Labor Day passed ori very yeletly
:in Clinton. Some people were in
"Toronto and some went to Zurich to
see the Clinton baseball ''team win
tithe tournament,

'The Prince of Wales bought a war
'savings certificate the other day.
That was good business on his part.
-0f we had the cash we'd imitate the
.3'riace to that extent.
Goderibh probably 'awakened up to
:the fact on Monday that Clinton at.
;ter all has a worth while baseball
(team. All that was necessary was
tier Clinton to get her baseball play-
ers, home from the Great War. and
:get them into practise again.

so wonderful; as those soldiers were`
,%f I had not seen it for myself,"
Most of the patients which came
under Miss Scott's hands were Im-
,perials, "'l'ommies and Jocks," as
,they were called. Some Australians
and a few Canadians were.also treat-
ed, but, though" it was a' Canadian
;hospital, only a few Canadians were
.sent there. A few patients from this
:locality went through her hands but
none of the Clinton nurses had the
privilege of nursing a Clinton sol-
dier.
• Miss Scott also spoke of the won-
derful unselfishness of the soldiers,
their thoughtfulness for others, their
•cheerfulness under dijfcnities and
their philosophical endurance of suf-.
'tering. "It was just wonderful, that
is the only word which describes it.
I take. oft my hat to any man .who
las served at the front," said Miss
Scott.
"You are not. sorry you went 7
',tva5 The News -Record's query. "No,
indeed," was' the hearty answer,
"My only regret is that I didn't go
in 101.4, 13ut I would not part with
the experience I had for a great
deat."
Clinton has no reason to be asrttam-
•cd of its war, record. For a town
RS size it tontribtuted a large per-
centage of fighting men, many 01
'whom made the, supreme sacrifice.
