The first consignineut of new Cana- dian cents is now in circulation here now. The cent is slightly lar?,er than a Canadian ten cent piece, and the design is much changed from the previous is- sue, particularly on the reverse. The obverse side of the coin is a reproduct- ion of the old cent with the finer lin- er of the design showing nearly, as dis- tinctly. Though the inscription of the reverse is identical, its appearance is greatly changed .from last year's coin. Instead of appearing in a straight line the word "CANADA" curves around the top of the letterintg. The letters are much heavier and distinct that be- fore, . The, greatest change noticed is the absence of the wreath of leaves, which has always been a distinction on Canadian cent pieces. A large maple leaf appears on either side of the wort "ONE CENT."
