Holding Next Convention at
Sault Ste. Marie

was selected as the next year' convent-
ion city for the Ontario Grand Lodge
of the Independent Order of Oddfellows
which closed its session in the Masonic
Temple to -day.

vention for 1925 to Sault Ste, Marie,
but the Grand Lodge, officially and. in-
dividually shied at the enormous ad-
ditional expense that would be invol-
ved'and a e^ne of 211 to 121, Toronto
was electet..
Some of the delegates opposed to
*ding so far northwest as Ile Soo, es -
donated tht the additional expense of
transporting all the delegates there as
compared with their transportation to
Toronto, would amount to $30,000,

The following officers,were installed
fur the coming term: Grand master,
H. G, Robertson of Barrie; deputy grand
master, A. W. J. Hamilton, Fort William
grant secretary, William Brooks, Tor-
onto; grand treasurer, P. T. Coupland,

The following resolution w,as aimo$
unanimously adopted!!
"That owing to the immediate need
of extension of the present house build-
ing required by the trustee board this,
grand lodge hereby levies an assess -y
meat of $2 per member to be 'divided
into eight payments of 25c each to bei
collected quarterly within the lodge
dues such assessment to be used ex-
clusively for building purposes; be 0
further resolved that such lodges as con
tributed to the home building fund in
accordance with the resolution passed
in the session of 1919 by assessment or
otherwise be given credit for such a-
mount.
Change Age of Admittance.
A resolution was adopted asking that
the soverign grand lodge amend its
legislations and permit grand lodges to
admit members at a8 years of age.
A motion was adopted that a change
be made in the constitution to ha've'the
lodge, by laiv, "discontinue payment of
Oak benefits after a 'member shall have
receivbd sick benefits for a continua-
tion period of 52 weeks."

Even the Taylor Bros., ,the donors of
the trophy did not want to• win
for they lost their first three games.
Skip Allen, of Luckuow, who killed
the chances of the Taylor Bros.' last
year for the trophy, defeated them in
their first game this year—and then the
Sepoy's are some bowlers.
Skip 'Telfer, the trophy winner, was
one of the few skips that could
"holler" at a good play and keep his
team-mates on the jump,.
A welcome visitor . was Mr, Jas.
Trow, of Stratford, Mr. Trow has been
a frequent bowler here in the past,
"As usual" some of his players threw
down skip Dr. Robertson of Stratford,
when he wanted a shot up to the kitty.
The ladies in charge of the lunch
counter had everything a bowler would
require except the chaser after the
Soda water.
Skip D. Ferguson of Teeswafer was
the only man who brought his .hays
along with Itis. Dr, Ferguson was vice
skip and Rus. Ferguson was 2nd, and
to balance up the father and son's com-
bination Mr. Ccinstantine was lead.
Among the Old Boys on the green
were the Taylor Brothers, who donated
the trophy, C. E. Dowding of Toronto
and. Mr, Coinstantisne of Teeswafer.
• The day was not altogether an ideal
one as tt was cold, but fast plays kept

Solar Centre, Milky Way, June 21.—,�
Evidence that the wave of tabor unrest
has reached the solar system was given
today, when Old Sol, a leader of the
Solar System Light and Heat Co,, de-
manded shorter hours. He announced
he will voluntarily shorten his working
time graduated scale and that he sho"rt-
ly will start south for a six months'

The daylight saving movement has
cut into his rest sines his services are
demanded at different hours in differ-
ent parts of the coutnry. Flis schedul-
ed hours today were from 2,24 am, to

Mise White Passes Away
Last Saturday Miss M, A. White en.
old resident of Clinton passed away
on Saturday last. She was .bora in:
Thirsk, Yorkshire, England, and ;carne
to Clinton in young womanhood where
she spent the rest of her life, with tine
exception of some years in PitiladeEpttge
where a brother also resided. She suf-
fered a stroke of paralysis about 8
years ago and a second one in Febaes-
ary 1917 from which she rallied parti-
ally and enjoyed fairly good health Mee
