Trinity 'Church Sunday School held
a fine Christmas free and entertain-
ment. The children gave a, good pro-
gram assisted by Mr. Allen of Wingham,
Mrs, (Rev.). Hawkins, Blyth, mid Mr,
'David McGill, Belgrave. Addresses were
given by Rev. Messrs. Royle Davison
and -Hawkins. There was a full house.
The receipts; which amounted to $65,
are' to be 'devoted to Sabbath school
work.
The Methodist 'Sabbath school re-
cently held an `At 'Home." The pro-
gram was produced by the children
with an address by the pastor, Rev.
Sidney..Davison on the coating of the
Christ child Solos by D. McGill and
by Mr. Davison and Mrs G. Walsh
told Mrs, Craton Proctor were enloyed,
On Wednesday evens ne the officers
and pupils of the Presbyterian Church
held their Christmas tree entertainment
in the C. 0. F, hall with the usual ex-

cle, Mr. William' Jennings, her aunt,

Harrison, of Sanford, left to attend the

The. death has occurred here of
William Coventry, in his 90th year. He
came here from East Wawanosh 20
years ago, He leaves a grownup' fancily.
Death removed David Lougheed, in
his 45th year. Mr, Lougheed, was a vet- '
eran of the Boer war and had been an -
invalid since 20 years ago, when he
fell through a trap door in a factory.
He was well known in Wingham and
will lie much missed. He was a member
of the Oddfellows and Orangemen,
and the burial was, in charge of the latt-
er. •
The town check, which leas been
standing at 4,20 for the last six or
seven weeks because of tine smallpox
card which was on the door of the
dwelling part of the post office,is tick-
ing off the time to -day and the card
.card front the door has disappeared, as
the sick ones are now recovering rap-
idly and will.soon be out again.
So far there is only one name for
councillor, but a three -cornered fight
is already established for the reeveship

Tipling and H. B. Elliott, of The Times
printing office, being the candidates.
The Sunday school entertainment ot
St. Paul's Church took place in the
town hall, the proceeds amounting to

passed off very successfully on Tues-
day last. There was scarcely standing
room. The little people acquitted
themselves very well with songs, reci-
tations and dialogues. Mr. Horton and

The secretary's report for the past year
showed the Club to be in a prosperous
condition, with a substantial balance on
hand and a paid-up membership of sixty
seven. The, question of affiliation with
the U. F. O. was mentioned and is to be
taken up further at a later date,

er's day this year. Although there is.
hardly enough snow for sleighing 'yet
there is sufficient to give the fields a
winters appearance.

his brother and other relatives in this
