Wheeler purchased the furni- ture business of Mr: Wesley Walker. Mr. Wheeler is a Huron County boy whose home was originally at r3rus- sels: • He is a son-in-law of Mr, Jaynes Bowtnan, M, P., for North Huron. He comes to Goderich from Toronto, where he was with A. W. Miles' under- taking establishment on College street, and besides being an accredited under- taker he also Is a first-class furniture man. Under his direction the business should be carried on in an able man- ner and with even greater success. Pos- session will be given on November 15. Mr. Walker came to Goderich five years ago, and he has shown his faith Clinton branch of tate W. C. The following item taken fron. the Brantford Expositor refers to a former pastor of Ontario St. Church: --Rev, William Smythe, of this city, has just been the recipient of a very cordial note of appreciation from the Official Board of the Milton Methodist church, where he took union services last sunnier. According to the report of the meeting, Mr. Smythe was assured of a warm wel- come when he comes to Milton again Mr. Smythe has served fifty-five years in the active ministry and still does ef- fective service. There is a Reason .Ask Us. Rate Increase. Many persons are unaware of the recent change in postal rates to foreign countries and a notice issued by the postoflice department explains the new charges. Ten cents for the first ounce will be charged for letters addressed to countries outside Great Britain and the Empire, or Canada, United States and Mexico, and five cents for each additional ounce. For Great Britain and all other places within the Empire the rate is four cents for the first ounce and tihree cents for each addit- ional ounce, inclusive of war tax.
