delegate at the convention of Cath-
olic Women's Leagues in London
this week.
Mr. E. Lewis Evans of Louisville,
Ky., was here last 'w.eek attending
the funeral of his brother, the late
Frank W. Evans.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fenwick of,
Niagara Falls were the guests for
a few days last week of Mr. and
Mrs. W. T. Herman.
Mrs. Gordon Johnston of St. Cath-
s arines visited for a few trays over
the week -end with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. C. Lovett.
Wes. Arthur Tyndall has returned to
her home in Clinton after a visit
with her sister, Mrs. "Andrew Por-
ter.—Gotlerich Signal.
Mrs. Win. Cooper left Tuesday af-
ternoon en route for Ontario Cal-
ifornia, where she will spend the
winter with her daughters.
Mr. James Lovett was up from St.
Catharines over the week -end.
"Jim" seems to be doing a nice lit-
tle business in his new stand.
Mrs. F. M. Holmes has gone to
Bayfield for a short visit before
going to St. Catllaf.ines, where she
has bought a 14e and intends
settling.
Rev. Kenneth Beaton is in town this
week having cone to address the
District Epworth League conven-
tion held in Ontario street church
yesterday.
Miss Daisy Nediger assisted in the
program at the entertainment in
the Prebyteran church, Brucefield,
on Monday evening, giving sever-
al readings.
Miss Florence Cuninghame is in
Brantford this week, being the del-
egate from Wesley Sunday School
to the Ontario Religious Educa-
tional Council.
Mr. Chas. Cole returned to Brant-
ford on Friday after spending a
few days in town, having accom-
panied the remains of his nephew,
the late Frank W. Evans.
Misses Mary and Mande Howell of
Goderich were in town on Tuesday
forenoon, on their way from
Brucefield, where they had spent
the week -end with friends.
Mrs. Abner Cosens of Wingham
spent a few hours with old friends
in town on Thursday. She was on
her way home from Goderieh,
where she had spent a couple of
days with friends.
Miss Bessie Porter, who recently
sold her house an who had a sale
last week of her household effects,
has gone to Londesboro to reside
with Mrs. Tamblyn, who spent a
week or so with her in Clinton
v while she was settling bee affairs
here.
Mrs. E. B. Hill and family left this
' week for Collingwood, where they
intend malting their home in fu-
ture. Mrs. Hill's mother, who is
in poor health, has her home in
Collingwood anti her daughter feels
that she needs her ears. The fam-
ily will be missed but good wishes
follow them to their now abode.
Miss Eulalia remains in Clinton.
Mrs. F. McEwan of London and her
daughter, Dr. Annabel Mclwan,
spent a few clays the past week
visiting relatives and friends in
town and vicinity, Their old Clin-
ton friends were delighted to have
them back far even a few days.
Dr, Mcrwan, who' liar been in the
employ ci' the Provincial Govern -
merit in Northern Ontario during
the past year, contemplates return -
lag to her work in India again

guest of Mrs. John Blair for a week.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Robertson of God-
erich are visiting friends in Auburn
this week.
Rev. W. R. Osborne of Lemke -
boo preached in the Methodist pul-
pit on Sunday while Rev. A. E.
Millson took anniversary services at
Constance.
The sale of Mrs. D. Patterson
was well attended and good prices
were realized.
We regret to .record the death of
Miss Elda Groos at the home of her
father, Mr. Geo. Groos, on Friday,
Oet. 21st. She had been ill most of
the summer and thinking to benefit
her health, she and her sister, Clara,
tools a trip to the coast, She was
in her twenty-third year and was a
very \lovable girl. She will be naeh
missed by all who knew her. She
leaves to mourn their loss her father,
and sister Clara, and three brothers,
Will end Ernest at home and Rev,.
C. Dorno Groos, Evangelical ntittis-
tee at Aytown. The sympathy of the
comust tdty goes tact to the bereaved
