A GOOD SINGER
Rev. C. L. Bilkey is a great mus-
ician, and a very good singer, as
Clintonians have heard him can tes-
tify. But he has a relative who
can equal him. Mr, Rupert Nichols
a brother of Mrs. Bilkey, sang a
solo last Sunday morning, that was
a musical treat to those present.
The name of the piece was ",King
David's Lament." When we say
that Mr. Nichols sings in a Prom-
inent New `York church, our readers
will realize that Mr. Nichols must
be in the front ranks.
RETURNS FROM TIIE ARCTIC -
Mr, henry Ransford of Edmonton
has returned in safety from his'
somewhat adventurous trip to the
Arctic Circle. His father is the
proud possessor of a collection of
views that he took on the jouiney,,.
The tractors, autos, and portable
saw=mills that were .taken into that.
what is to us a desolate region, was
somewhat astonishing.
1VIr. Ransford reporte that the
Royal North West Mounted Police
are doing` splendid work out there.
They have the, country completely'
under control, and the .old days of
dancing -halls and gambling -halls are
east and gone.

The Clinton Junior Lacrosse boys
crossed: sticks with the boys of the

somewhat sad strains of .18 2 The
score, however, was nqindication of
the play, as both sides, kept up a
good combination. Tisne' and time
again the .Clinton ,boys, would break
through the heavy defense only to
be outplayed by the stalwart goal
