We were sorry to hear Mr. Chas.
Johnston got a bone broken in his
foot last week and had to have it in
a cast. We hope his foot will soon
be better.
Miss Jean Elliott, the newly -
elected president for this year, pre-
sided ot the monthly meeting of the
Woman's Institute held on Thursday
afternoon in the Orange Hall. Mrs.
Gallaher gave a report of the meet-
ing of the Distridt directorate
leading to a good discussion on.
"Glove Making," the suggested
district project. No local leader wah

Florence Fowler and Miss Jean
Elliott were elected delegates to the
district annual to be held at Gorrie
May 30th. Mrs. C. Tavener led in a
good discussion on "Borrowing and

Rev. F. G. Fowler conducted a
special Mother's Day service in
Knox Presbyterian church on Sun-
day morning. Using the story of
Moses' and his mother as a text and
pointed out some of the many ways
that children can repay their moth-
er for services. rendered.
During the service Deane McKin-
ny was Presented with a certificate
for the repeating of the primarY
Catechism. A suitable anthem was
rendered by the choir and Allan
Ramsay sang a solo. The church
was .fragrant with bouquets of
roses and hyacinths.
Next Sunday the 'Sacrament of
the Lord's Supper will be observed
and preparatory service held the

ing with prayer.
Suffers Painful Accident
Charles F. Johnston, 1st Conces-
sion of ;Morris met with a painful
accident. A horse with. which he was
working stepped on his foot, break-
ing a bone. The foot was put in a
cast. It will be some time before
