Regarding Local Relief
Mary of the ratepayers. In the Vil-
lage, of Bru;sesls ;have kept off re-
lief by .exercising care with what
monies they earn, and those who
apply for relief are expected to be
'Just as careful. .
'Several complaints have been
received from ratepayers that re-
lief as given out, has been abused,
and the Connell is determined to
cut out the abuse (or cut off relief)
and it has been .agreed that the

The splendid concert presentedin
the Town, Hall, Saturday evening by
the Eckhardt Brothers, Bell Ringerns

large crowd.

The Huron 'County Livestock
Judging Competition is being held
In .he Minton district on Saturday,
June 3rdbl The annual event Is
open to farmer's sons 26 years of
age and under. Two classes of the
following types' of livestock will lie
Judged, Heavy horses, beef cattle,
dairy cattle, e' e'p and swine. Oral
reasons will ibe taken by the follow -

The death of Mrs, Sam hempenn,
one of the, oldest residents of East
Wawanosh, *centred en S'aturda}l
night, Mrs. Thompson passed away
at the home of her .son, Bent limp -
Son, 9111 line of East Wawamoah,
Her husiband predeceased her a
number of years ago. Mrs, Thomp-
son had been in poor health for
ante time, She is survived, by four

order that the committee may ar-
range accommodlatlon. There is
a very heavy demand fpr Passenger
cars on the date of the Ring's visit
to Stratford and if Brussels is to
obtain accommmodation on the train;
we must be in a position to assure
the C.N.R. as to the ' approximate
nmm'ber of persons who will be go-
ing. Kindly register befOre Tues-
day newt.
The train arrives at Brussels at
8.53 and arrives at :Stratford 10.25
a.m. The return train leaves
Stratford at 9.50 pall. and will ar-
rive at Brussels. at 6,22 p.m.

We have been advised that all
who attend at Stratford will have a.
good view of their Majesties. The
King and Queen will be off the
train for about fifteen minutes and
besides this opportunity for the
Public, there is the additional view
provided by the Royal train proceed-
ing at 3 miles per hour the full
length of the railway yards during
which time their Majesties will be
in full view of their subjects.

Although development of pneu-
monia was feared for a time, follow-
ing a tenacious attack of fin, we are
glad to know that Jack Dunbar has
mode .good recovery,
Mrs. Mary Smalldon who, has had
varied and uncertain 'health for
many months, is again taking active
part in spring house cleaning and
other ordinary household duties,
vMs. Gen. Bateman and daughters
Annie and -Minnie are resident in
the Coates house on Main Street.
Unfortunately Mrs. Bateman will be
confined to bed for an indefinite
time, suffering from weak heart
condition,
Alf King and family will soon be
nicely settled in their new home in
the house recently vacated hp Cas-
per Fleet, who shoved to Rockwood
to be in the employ of the C.N.R.
John King has been distressingly
i11 during the past week. He is to
be hoped a change for the better

be sown to grain crops in this com-
munity, but the majority of farmers
have campletted the grain seeding
and are now busy preparing for
corn planting and root sowing. No
