GOD! RICH—Tile Park House, a
well-known private hotel and one of
the landmarks of Goderich, was
badly damaged In one of the wcl'st
fires in the history of the town
Sunday efternoon. The fire chief,
George . Iseacom, was overcome with
smoke and was given medical treat-
ment in the evening. His condition
was reported as satisfactory.
The fire, whieih started on the
second floor about 4;30' o'clock fu
the afternoon, scan spread to the
third floor, which, with the roof,
was soon a mass of flames. The
firemen battled through dense
smoke for five hours before the amt•
agration was extinguished. The
12 boarders in the building made
their escape, savaging only the
