This is little enough. Whiic the mein was a gold pendant, the gift of
remembrance of the dead of the two
wars is tbo spiritual aspect o; the
poppy there is the other practical
purpose ar assisting the living, for
the money raised through the fund is
used tor emergency' assistance to
veterans and their families,
When an emergency crape up in
any family, speed is the essential
re•ani1 relents in providing n.ssistance.
The local Poppy Fund provides this
speedy assis:tanee. There are many
worth, veterans who hestitate to
apply to any of the organized chart -
ties. Many of them have twice gone ,
into uniforun to the service of their i
country. Through the comradeship
of the Canadian Legion their needs 1
are learned and the assistance is
fortbcanring. It should be remem- 1
bered too that while the Peppy Fund i
is a national appeal the money
raised locally is used locally to
, assist veterans and their families,
The Legion slogan "Wear a Poppy
for Remembrance' 'is a good slogan. j
It is one that deserves the support
of every citizen.
