Friendship Circle Notes
The January Inc rting of the
Friendship Circle was held at the
hom of Mrs. Rev. Wilson with ' tine
new president, Mrs. IVnl, Miller in
the chair. In the absence of the
regular secretary, Mrs, Ryan, Mrs.
Cousins was appointed to substitute
for the evening,
The meeting opened with 'singing
two verses of Hymn 19, followed
with Prayer by Evelyn Lake, A
report of the Christmas meeting was
read, then a delightful piano solo by
Karen Buschlen was on,loyed by all.
Four verses of Hyymn 662 followed.
The Scripture was real responsively
Prom No. 736 In Hymnary, The
treasurer, Mrs, Synott reported a
balance of $3.93, plus 47c In Sun-
shine Box. The eighteen members
present answered the roll call by.
naming an appreciated Christmas
girt. Miss Pearl Baker read
several interesting chapters from the
Study Book and then Hymn 376 was
sung.
Several business items were then
discussed and some overseas letters
Passed around to show how great is
the need of the European people this
winter. Mrs. Buschlen moved 5

1 was seconded by Mrs, W. Martin,
i, Mrs. Cousins gave a humorous read -
lug and Thoughts for the New Year
were given by several other mem-
bers. Hymn 559 and Mlzpah Bene-
diction concluded the Worship
program. A Bible Qnlz curtest war
conducted by Mrs. B. Garniss and
then a lovely lunch was served by
the hostess assisted 'ny Mrs. Cousins.
Mrs. Wilson was thanked tor her
kind hospitality and the Circle will
meet at Mrs. Buschlen's home for
February meeting,
Mrs, .Toe Pearson was hostess for
the Women's Institute last Thursday
afternoon. About 30 ladies were in
attendance. The president, Mrs.
Wardlaw was +in the chair, The meet-
ing opened in tate usual way. The
minutes of the last mooting were
'mad and the roll called, nuswat'ed
with "who's woo in Huron County,"
The motto, "Ts it better to build a
lite than to make a fortune, was
given by Mrs, J. Pastel, Mrs. Word -

answered by Mr. Cardiff, A very
interesting discussion followed. A

taken up. Tt was decided that the

rink ' early in' February, weather
Permitting, the 'proceeds to go to
the rink fund, The meeting closed
with 'God save the King.' Lnurll
