On Sunday last, Rev. Alec Simpson

Melville Anniversary Services, At
the morning service, Mr. Simpson
took NS ttext from Jeremiah in which
God reminds backsliding IM1ael,
"I have loved thee with an ever.
lasting Love." The nation, was in
captilyity. The lore of God, is "
shown rolnetimei in ;suffering and i
hardship, which purifies the souls..
God wants every soul to take ad-
vantage of Hiseverlasting love.
Love is the fundamental command of I
Christ.
At the evening service Rev. Situp•
son preached from the text, "I am
not ashamed of the goopel of Christ" l
This was a discourse on the power
of God in Christ.
The choir .rendered the anthems,
"Ye shall dwell in .the land" by
Stainer, Mary Lou McFarlane and
Graeme MacDonald taking solo ;
parts. "0 Lord haw manifold" by
Barnby. and "Go not far from Me"
by 7ingamelli. Brian Prescott sang
the tenor solo, "Hold Thou My i
Hand," and preceding the evening

William M. Rann
Our community was saddened on
Wednesday by the deabh of William
M. Rann in Wingham General Hos-
pital after a lengtihy. illness. Ile was ;
in his twenty-second year.
He was the elder son of Alkin
and Aletha Rann and wile. bora here.
After attending public and high
School here and Wingham District i
High school he went into his father's
furniture and undertaking business.
A year ago he obtained his grade- '
ate diploma from the Ranting Intl. ,
tute School of li;mbalming. He was a
member of Brussels 'United Church
and of the Brussels, Lions Club.
Besides his parents he is survived
by one brother, Robert, London, and
one sister, .lane, ht biome.
Services were conducted on Friday
October 30111. by the Rev. Andrew
Lane. Interment was made in
Bntsscels cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Jack Rann,
Barrie Rann, Stan. Hopper, Murray
Keyes, Peter Breden and Duncan
Jamieson.
Friends from Brusltels, Wingham
Fergus, Parkhill and Meaford were
flowerbearers.

Canadian Legion extend an invitation to the citizens of 'Brussels and
district, to join them at the Remembrance Service which will be
held at Melville Presbyterian Church at 11 a. m., November 11th.

The laying of wreaths will take place at the Cenotaph at 12.00
following the Church service.
