Brussels Lions C1ltJb Says and
Girls Band led the parade at the
Zurich Lions Club Frolic on Mon-
day. Caaight is a downpour of
rain, which began as the parade
stanted, .they were thoroughly
di,eenehed beftlre shelter.
Being good: sports they took off
their •soaking wet coats, shook the
water out of their instruments and
making use of what little music
they carried with them while on
parade, they entertained the crowd
,that gathered in the arena to escape
the deluge of rain before the even-
ing's program commenced.
ST. JOHN'S W. A.
The regular meeting of the W. A.
of St. John's Chiurch was held et the
house of Mrs. A. Morrow on Tuesday,
Aug. 20th. The hymn, "Work for the
Day is Corning" was sung, followed
by the W. A. Litany and the mem-
bers prayer. Mrs. B. Mitchell read
the lesson from 1st Timothy, 6111
chapter. Minutes of the previous
meeting were read by Mrs, G. Davis.
Offering was taken up and a short
bnsdness period followed. Mrs..
Diorrow then read the let chapter
'from the study .book, "Thine Is the
Glory," ' a history of our missionary
society. Meeting closed with in.

IN CRASH
NEAR MOLESWORTH
Six peraone were hospitalized fol-
lowing a two -ear collison oe High-
way 86, about one mile east of Moles-
worth, Tuesday. Four of them were

Alex Straw, 54, and Allan Brecken-
ridge, 28, both of R. R. 2, Bluevale. .
Shaw suffered a deep forehead
met and chest injuries, and also
shock, Breckenridge suffered a
cpt tongue which required stitches .

and abrasions. However, he was
released from hospital Tuesday

Let Name Stand
McKinley, defeated Candidate for
l-Turon-Perth in the last election,
told the Exeter Times -Advocate
"we will lest our name stand at the
meeting" but he denied reports
that he was actively campaigning
for that position.
Party followers however, said
McKinley was touring the riding
and talking to the delegates who
will choose their standard bearer
this Monday.
Redistribution of federal eleete
anal districts have prompted this
rase for the PC nomination,
Mr. Cardiff's (riding, Huron
North; was combined with Huron -
Perth whose setting member is
Andrew MoLean. a Seforth
liberal, Mr. McLean edged Elgin
McKinley by a slim margin of
295 votes out of the 14,000 cast le
the riding when the Lihnnals swept
back into efface in 1949.
Since then, Mr. McKinley has
been .aotive in party circles and let
it be known lie wanted another

in this district expected he would
be the party's candidate in this
election. However, they did not
fonsee the amalgamation of ridings,
Unique Contest
Elston Cardiff, active PC member
in the House for the last twelve
'Years, wants to stand for re
election in the new distriot. If he
gets the nomination and Mr. McLean
runs again for the Liberals, the
contest will be unique with two
sitting members seeking re-election
in the same riding.
Elmer D. Bell, K. C., president of
Western Ontario PC Association,
expects over 300 voting delegates
at the nomination meeting, Every
poll in the riding is entitled tg two
delegates. These are picked by
poll committees.
Close to 18,00 population has beset
added to the riding, whose total
now reaches 43,000.
The Increase includes the
towns of Clinton and God-
erich; the villages of Blyth,
and Brussels and the townships
of Colborne, Goderioh, Grey and
Morrie.
The municipalities of Mitchell,
Logan and Ptllarton, formerly
of Huron -Perth are now part of
Perth. riding.
