The world sugar situation has been improving and has made possible the recent increases in the Canadian allowance. Kenneth MacDonald was removed to Listowel Memorial Hos- pital on Friday •where he underwent an operation for appendicitis. Re ports are that be is progressing favoably. Alex Dark, London, was Balling on friends in this district on Sunday. Miss Mina Baker spent the week end in Galt.
