MILITARY MEDAL -Alex. McLeod,
6011 of Roderick McLeod, who went
overseas with the Said Battalion, and
who has been iu the trenches since
last January, has been awarded the
military medal for conspicuous
bravery on the field. The event to all
the more noteworthy on account of
the age of the recipient, who only
reached his 1.8th birthday on October
30th last. Cleve. McDonald, another
Walton boy, who was recently re-
potted killed in action, went overseas
with Pte. McLeod, and the shell which
killed him also knocked the bayonet
off MeLend's rifle who was with a
company gong in'to the trenches to
relieve the one with which McDonald
had been fighting.

Thursday of last week the Goderich
District meeting was held in Walton
Methodist church, as per announce-
inent, and was a decided SUCCORS, 411
