A YOUNG CANADIAN POET,- There
has just come from the press a small
volume of poems from the pen of J. .J.
Pearson 13 A. The volume contains a
goodly'number of serious poems the
majority of which are written in the
Spenserian stanza. This work is the
resuls of a hard working student who
has pursued his studies in two of our
great Canadian Universities as well as
doing post graduate work in the lar
fai'-'ed seats of' learning Glatgow and
Edinburgh, To attempt to put before
the public in verse from this collection
is no mean effort. The sentiment and
thought is that of one who has been iu-
spired by splendid vision and has lived
close to the heart of God, I have read
with delight and profit this first effort
of our young author. We commend
the book to a thoughtful public and
bespeak for it a wide sale. Cupies may
be secured st Fox's Drug Store, Brus-
