George Kelly, of Sioux, Lookoub,
Ontario, thieved home Wednesday of
this week. He did not hear of his
father's death (Geo. RellY sr.) until
he got to Blyth, owing to the distance

Kelly left for home. He will spend
the Winter here and perhaps longer.

It was a wonder somebody was not
killed by the fall of 15 feet or &own-
ed in the swollen river. As it was
Jno. Little, 4th line, received a bad
blow in the face from a piece of tim-
ber but he is improving nicely. Mr.
Barkley and Edevin Aemstrong also
had a unexpected bath but were not
injured. The engine was detached
from the mixer and the fOrrnen put
on a raft and headed for shore but
the raft dumped and engine and own-

took another plunge. A few clays
will complete Mr. Barkley's contract
and he will not be sorry after all the
delays by wet weather and the ac-
cidenb reported here. Other work-
men who were working at the time
of the accident made their escape by
jumping on the new abutment.

home here on Monday of Frederic
Brown, au oldand respected resident
of this locality. Deceased had. attain-
ed his Eith year and while he had been
failing for a number of years his
death came very unexpectedly on
Monday evening at 5,80. II, e is surviv-
ed. by two sons, Leonard and Thomas
and two dauhters, Mrs. Thos. Walk-

was made in the Wroxeter cemetery
on Wednesday afternoon, service be-
ing conducted by Rev. Mr. Wesley.
