Roy who is one of the en- terprising young men of the town- ship, has been a student at the Agri- cultural College at Guelph and had obtained from one of the Professors a ditching machine with which he was prepared to do great work ; digging as mach as fixty to seventy rods per day. In some way his right hand caught in the machine and the index and little fingers of the tight hand were taken off near to the hated and a severe flesh wound made on the back of the hand and the thumb broken. As soon as possible medical aid woe secured and the injuries received skil- led attention. It is feared that .some dirt has been ground into the wounds a nd poison- ing there is a danger of blood loison- g g £ in though at the time of writin the ! patient was doing well. As they were coming down Queen street nearing the market square their horse bolted at the sight of an auto and ran into a load of cordwood which was being teamed by Joe Tait.
