Annual Meeting.
The annual meeting of the Huron
Plowman's Association will be held
in Brussels Town Hall, on Wednesday
Jan. 4th, 1928. Annual report will
be presented and officers elect,:d.
New Ford Was Snowbound.
The New Ford which was to have
been on display last Thursday at the
Ford garage; could not get here ow-
ing to the conditions of the road.
Mr. McIntyre expects the ear to be
here in January.
Stealing Money from Milk Bottles.
Mrs. D. Baclgley reported to the
Post last Saturday that a bay in town
had taken money, for the second
time,.out of her milk bottle, acid the
asks that he return same before any
further action is taken. It's a pretty
small piece of business, that of taking
money like that.

Money Picked Up on Street.
Saturday afternoon, Robt. David-
son, 12th concession picked up a sum
of money on the street, and called in
at The Post and reported same.
About 5.30 Mrs. A. Yuill came into
the office and reported she had lost
some stoney and was told where it
was.
Died At London.
Last Thursday Malcolm Munro
Woodley, former resident of Brussels
died at Queen Alexandra Sanatorium,
London at the age of 46 years. De-
ceased had been in ill -health for some
time. Ile was formerly employed
with R. Thompson and two years ago
became an inspector on the egg -
grading department. Burial was
made at Woodland cemetery on Sat-
urday.
Died at Detroit.
'The many old friends of Me Ira
Barkley will be sorry to hear that
he passed -away at the home of his
sister, Mrs. McConnell in Detroit on
Sunday, December 11th, at rate age
of 64 years, 10 months and 17 days,
after an illness of several ,months.
Mr. Barkley had been a resident of
Climax .•ince 19.02, going there from
Ypsilanti. He purchased a general
store in Climax, Mich., which h car-
ried on till his death. He was a man
who enjoyed e. wide circle of friends,
generally known for his keen bu;i-

the auspices of the Women's Institute
in the Town Hall was a big success
on Tuesday evening.

At a recent meeting of the execu-
tive of the above association, held at
the hone of Dr. H. and Mrs, Hoag,
Playter Blvd., Toronto it was decided
to hold the annual At -Home of the
Toronto-Brusselites Association Fri-
day evening, January 20th, in the
Brown Betty Tea Rooms (opposite
the King Edward.) Arrangements are
being made for a very pleasant even-

The Late Mrs. C. W., Sager.
Mrs. Chas. W. Sager, who died at
her late residence, 526 English street
London, was laid to rest in the fam-
ily plot of her husband's people of
the town of Preston, Mrs. Sager.
whose maiden name was Mary Mc-
Donald, was, horn at Walton, the only
daughter of the late James and Mrs.
McDonald, and leaves to moqurn her
loss besides her husband, thl.ee liro-
thers, Reuben, of Belleview, Wash-
ington; Thomas, of Winnipog and
James of London. Deceased, who
was married in 1887 to Chas. W.
Sager, of Preston, began her married
life at Brussels but had been a valued
citizen of East London for the past
25 years, her husband holding a pos-
ition with George White and Sons,
Mes. Sager for a quarter of a cen-
tury up- to the time of her death was
a devoted member of the King Street
Church, whose minister, Rev. Dr.
McIntosh, conducted the ' funeral
service.
The Late Mrs. James Brown.
The late Mrs. Catherine 'Brown,
who passed away onTuesday, Decem-
ber 13, was born -on October 31,
1851, the secpnd daughter of'Fred-
erick and Christiana Bvautigen.
On October 31st, 1872,
she married James Brown, who
predeceased her by twenty year's, and
for about five years they farmed
near Lakelet, later moving to Ford -
with, where site resided until the
time of her death. To them, were
born three daughters ---Mrs. George
Elliott of'Earrist'on, Mrs. John Reich
of Howick, Mrs. Amos Denny (who
died in 1903), and three sone—Rob-
ert and Fred Brown of Howick and
James Brown of Harriston, Nine—
grandchildren

liam _Rutledge, minister of the Meth-
odist Church in Canada for fifty
year; dial tonight at his home, 38
Sprucedale Avenue, He was 77 years
of are. Dr. Rutledge, who retired
from the active ministry about eight
years age was born in t+ilgo, Ireland
and came to Canada with his parent:
when he was a child. He graduated
from McGill University, Victoria
University, and the Wesley Theologi-
cal College, and was a Doctor of
Divinity of the latter institution.
During his long ministry Dr. Rut-
ledge filled many important charges

Prairie, • Weslely Church, Veneta
Street, Toronto, during site time Vie
toria College was located there,
Brant Avenue Church, Brantford,
First Church, Hamilton and Park

North Street Methodist Church, God-
erich.
Dr. Rutledge was a member of
Centenary United Church, this city
and for many years was an active
Mason and a member of the Scottish
Rite. Besides his widow, who was
Miss Annie Lister, this city, Dr, Rut-
ledge is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. W. P. Shillington, South Bend,
Ind, and two sons, Joseph Lister
Rutledge of Toronto, editor of The
.Canadian Magazine, and Gordon'
Rutledge, Toronto, Manager of the
Financial Post. The late Mrs, (Rev)
J. L. Kerr of Brussels was a sister
and deceased is now survived by one
sister, Mrs. Metcalf', of Toronto.
Funeral is being held today (Wednes-
day.)
