ONLY SON DIED.—The sad news was re- ceived here last Tuesday of the death of Leslie, only son of Frank and Mrs. Oliver, Tillsonburg, aged g years, from Diphtheria. He was only ill n feW days. Funeral was private on Tuesday. The father is ill with the same disease but we hope be will soon be better. Her par- ents were former residents of town, her mother being Miss Cbristena Menzies, Mrs. Mary Keys is home from Toron- to „hither she went owing to the illness of her son George. We are glad to state he is improving and was able to sit up before his mother left. He was a very sick man. Last Friday W. H. Kerr attended a meeting of tate London Conference Mis- sion iry Committee, of which he is a member, at St. Thomas. Meeting dealt with the Forward Movement for Mts. We wish her success. H. Milligan, who recently arrived home from overseas; assumed his old position as teller in the Bank of Nova Scotia, here on Wednesdey, Mr. Scar- lett, who bas been supplying since Miss Hoover went to California, will go to Detroit we understand. Saturday evening's train brought back to town Pte. Harry Fox from over- seas looking in good trim, the voyage be- ing made on the Olympic. He is the second son of Druggist and Mrs. Fox and is warmly welcomed to the old town. Harry was abroad 3 years and 3 months. A former well known resident of Brus- sels, in the person of T. D Ronald, now 01 Windsor, is visiting iu town and locality. He stands the passing years wonderfully well. Mrs. Juo Broad - foot, 15th Con. Grey township, is a sis- ter of Mr. Ronald's, He will likely re- main for the Old Boys' Re -union. Reuben and Mrs. Hlndes and daugh- ter, Mildred, of Albion, Michigan, were here for a visit over the week end, It is 21 years since the former left Brus- sels. He is a son of the late Samuel and Mrs. Hiudes who resided here for years Mr, abides found a good many old friends and the pleasure of re union was mutual. The visitors were unable to remain for the Re -union. Pte. john Fulton arrived in town by last Saturday night's train from over- seas. He spent 3 years over there in the military car shops at Hythe, Eng- land, Mr. Fulton calve by the Em- press of Britain.
