weeks of the choicest kind of
weather a change occured within a
few hours and the first snow of the
season fell November 13th, in this

cation Mr. P. N. Currie spent the
first few days in putting his fox
ranch in order tor the .winter, befq]'e
going to Bracebridge vicinity on a
hunting expedition. If his usual

stabling accommodation for horses.

left Ethel at the first of the week
for an extended'thip into the north,

though the herds were not entirely
depleted by the luck of this con-
tingent, the hunterrs report satisfac-
tory results.
Grey Twp. council met in monthly
session Nov. 12 in the Clerk's office
as usual.
Arrived at C.N.R, station, at the
week -end, a car of Alberta coal for
J, H. Fear. A car of screening for
C. R. Dunbar. Outgoing, two car-
loads of cattle from John M. Pear-
hon's herd.
Grover C. Gill's property at Ethel
C. N. R, station ha sbeen leased by
L. Engler and the 'amity moved in
last week.
Mrs. Quest Dobson is again able
eo engage moderately in customary
tasks of home life.
Mr. H. Fogel and son of Brantford
relatives of the Keffer families,
visited over the week -end with the
several families in Ethel and
vicinity.
Keep in mind the Crokinole
Social to be held in Ethel United
Church, Friday, Nov. 25th. Further
announcements next week.

Breckenridge passed away on Sat-
urday evening.

and uncle Hugh.
Mrs. Richmond of Blcth is spend-
ing a few days with her mother Airs.

Robertson has gone to Hamilton to
go under an operation for Goitre on
Thursday. We hope she will
soon be better.
Mrs, Robt. Turvey opened her
home for the monthly meeting of
the Women's Institute on Thurs-
clay afternoon when the program
throughout was In keeping with
Thanksgiving and Remembrance
Day. The president, Mrs. Wickstead.
presided. Miss Olive Shiels acted
in the absence of the secretary.

peace, and also outlinect the work

Miss Olive Shiell was awarded
the honor drawing the best Un-
ion Jack. At the close of the meet-
ing Mrs, Millon Smith, assisted the
hostess serve lunch and all enjoyed
a social time.
Miss Dorothy Aitkin, of Hollan is
spending the holiday at her home
here.

day morning and evening was con-
ducted by the pastor, Rev. A. V,
Robb.

Rev, J. R. Greig delivered a mes-
sage in keeping with Remebrance
Day. Special music was rendered

Residents of town learned with
regret Friday of the death of Mrs.
Alex Elder, a resident of town for
many years, wino passed away at
the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Walter McLean, Hamilton, in her
81st year. She was a member
of the Presbyterian church, The
funeral was held Saturday after
noo nto Rnton cemetery following
the arrival of the body from Ham-
ilton.
A fowl supper was served in
Memorial Hall under auspices of
the Women's Association of the
United church, About 690 people
attended, The hall Was decorated
with flagh, streamers and pennant'h
suitable to the Armistice occasion.
Following the snpmer, Rev. Arthlr
Sinclair, vastor of the church
introduced Rev. Mr, Townend, Bel
grave, with the cast of the play
directed by him. Before the presen-
tation of the play Jean an.d Irene
McCallum sang duets. Singing was
led by Rev, Mr, Townend. James 1r
Sims sang, with Helen Shaw' at the
piano.
