World's Poultry Congress, which

The April meeting of the Women's 1

byterian church was held on Friday
afternoon at the home of Mr's. Dun-
can McDonald. Mrs. Strachan pre-
sided with Miss Hislop and Mrs.
Meadows assisting in the open ex-
erci4es. After the business part of
the meeting, a duet "Now my heart
is glad" was sung by Mrs. Fowler
and 'Mrs. Thomson, and was much
appreciated. "The India Way"

Died in South Dakota,
Mrs, Hugh McKinnon received a
telegram on Sunday stating that lace
brother, Duncan McKay had passed
away. Deceased was at former resi-
dent of Grey Township but left for
Dakota over 40 years ago. No fur-
ther particulars were received. '
New Law Stamps,
By an order issued by A. N. Mid-
dleton, Inspector of legal offices in
Ontario, the order of the internal
revenue branch of the department
of customs and excise at Ottawa
changing law stamps is brought to
the attention of the members of the
legal profession in Ontario. By, this
order a new style of stamp, printed
in different colors, of smaller design
and bearing changes in engraving,
replace the style of stamps hereto-
fore used for the collection of law
stamp duties.
' The Late Mrs, F. Oliver.
An old resident of Brussels in the
I person of Mrs, Francis Oliver pass-
ed away Wednesday morning after
. a lingering illness of a few months,
in her 88th year. Deceased was
born in North East Hope being the
second daughter of the late Walter
and Mary Tytler and lived in that
locality until she wee n:rlreied to
Francis Oliver, by the Rev. Mr. Bell
of Guelph, 05 years ago. He pre-
' deceased her 40 years ago. To this
union there were four boys and four
girls, one boy dying in infancy; and
'David when 10 years old, and Mrs.
John Bell predeceased her 10 years
ago. The late Mrs. Oliver was of' a
quiet disposition and much attached
to her home and family, and was a
great lover of flowers. She leaves
to mourn her loss: Mrs, Wilbur Baker
of Preston; Mrs. John Bell, Shakes-
peare, Frank, of Frankfort, N. Y.;
Mrs. Jane Thompson and John, of
Brussels, and one sister, Mrs Pat-
terson, of Orillia. She had 16 grand
children and 4 great-grandchildren,
The funeral was held from the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Jane Thomp-
son with whom she had made her
home for some years. The service
was conducted by her pastor, Rev.
Mr, Fowler, on Friday afternoon,
who spoke comforting words to the
bereaved family. The floral tributes
were numerous and beautiful. The
flower girls were: Nancy Jane FM -
ler, Marguerite Logan, Edna Davi-
son, Isabel :McTavish and Ilene Gib•
son, and the ,pallbearers were her sin
grandsons who bore her to her last
resting place. Friends from a dis-
tance came from Toronto, Listowel,
Preston, Shakespeare, Wroxeter and
Stratford.
