The results have been moat gratifying. In 1891 there were 91 entries in all classes ; 8102 were re. oeived as entry foe, and 985 as gate receipts. A total of 9188 was therefore reoeived, and there was 9325 paid in premiums. Under the supervision of the A:iodations there has been a steady growth until in 1898 there were over 800 entries, over $1,100 gate and entry re. ceipts. The amount paid in prizes was 94,500. In 1800, there was over $8,500 paid in prizes. In 1900, there was over 8,000 entries and ovor 97,000 wan paid in prime, and 11,600 persona visited the Show. In 1898 9 block tests and leotures by the judges in the rings were int roduo. ed, and have since been continued and have proven of great value, 11 10 safe to say that this is now the moat important Show, from an edam:Monet standpoint, held in any part of the world. The Dairy Department is also most complete and valuable, in faot, it is the most valu- able and instructive show of dairy oattle held anywhere. In connection with the Show, poultry exhibits and experiments ave been introduced which are proving 1 great value to the country. The judges after making awards are numbed to deliver addresaes and explain by they placed the awards as they did. hey are most carefully chosen and are men of wide experience who fully under. tand the requirements of home and oreign markets. .After the animals are edged alive, each one entered for the lock teat is sent into the slaughtering oom where ibis killed and dressed, being rat privately marked by the director in barge of the ring. Other judges, also xperts, nowludge the carcasses and again ddress the audience and explain their wards and oatline the requirements of e various markets and of the commix'. 05. A building coating over $80,000 has een erected and equipped in Guelph for e purpose of holding the Show. Lo- re monis capable of seating 600 persons e yrovided. Last year these were not rge enough, and an overflow meeting as held. The auccess*of this exhibition oves that it is not necessary to provide uestionable entertainments in order to my a large, intelligent and appreciative dience. Last Winter a deputation of 60 persons om the Maritime Provinces visited this shibition. The remit is the Govern. ent of each of the Eastern Provinces O deoided to co-operate with the Mari. me Stook 13reeders' Association and tablish a Winter Show at Amherst, N. This point was chosen because it was ntral and of easy access from eaoh ovince. The Ontario Provincial Winter Fair 11 this year be held in Guelph, Deo. 10 13 inclusive. Listowel handed oat by tliE Court of Appeal Judgment (C.) on appeal by plaintiff from judgment of Rose, J., in ao far as it dismisses the Ration against defendant!: the corporation and the Breithaupi Leather Company. The plaintiff is a cattle dealer and the lessee of 75 sores of land known as the flax mill property, in the town of Lietowel, through which land and town flows a stream ealled the Maitland, river, which before it enters the limits of the town is a pure and never - failing stream of spring water.
