MRs. JNO. EWAN PAe9ED AWAY,—Last
Saturday Jane Grigg, relict of the tate
Jno. Ewan, paid Noora'e debt at her
home, Lot 5, con. 16, at the edvanoed ago
of 83 years, She had been in failing
health for the pkat 8 or 9 months, old age
and vnrioue oompiioatione being the
oanoe of her demine. Mrs. Ewan was
born in Dnmfertiee Fifeehire, Sooblaud,
was united in marriage to her late hue
band in 1846 and came to Canada in 1867
After a 2 yeare' sojourn in St. Marys,
Perth Co., their family moved to Hibbert
towuehip in the earns ooaoty where they
followed farming until they bought the
present hornestend in 1878. Mr. Ewan
died on March 3rd, 1904, within a month
of 88 years of age. Eight children were
born to them but only three norvive, Mrs.
Wm. Tetter, John and Mise Kate all of
this township. Deoeaeed enjoyed the
°,.teem of a wide circle of friende, She
was a member 08 the Preabyteriao obnroh

Onrrnene.—In the village of Belgrave
on the evening of Nov. 4th William Ben•
goagb departed this life in the 79th year of
hie age. He woe born in St. Andrewe,
Scotland, April 16th 1827 end when about
14 yenta of age he came with bin patents
to Canada and untied iu Whitby, Ont.
In the year 1861 be married Mise Mary
Hawkins, of Hamilton, and they made
their home at Bayfield. Bat the happy
home of hie youth was not long to be en.
joyed for in three gene death bereft him
of hie companion fn life leaving him with
one little daughter. In 1859 be married
Agnes B. Stewart and in 1861 he removed
to Marnoch, East Wawano,h, and ten
years later to Belgrave. In hie early
days he wad identified with the Presby•
teriau ohorob but for the last thirty
yeare he has been a devoted and faithful

Bean HANNA PASSES AWAY.— Wednoe•
day morning of this week the spirit of
Hugh Hanna, 6111 line, took its flight
from the tenement of olay. He was only
bit for two weeks, pneumonia being the
cause of death. Mr. Hanna was a native
of the Emerald Isle, being born in 00.
Down, end name to Canada in 1848. He
lived for a time in the County of Leeds
and moved to Morrie in 1864, taking up
the 100 sore farm on which be lived and
died, North Lot 17, Con. 6. About 48
years ago be married Ann Bella Hanna,
who with three daughters (Mrs. R. Gib
eon, Indian Heed, N. W. T. ; Mrs. Mem
Smith, Lauder, Manitoba, and Mien
Naomi, at home) enrvive hnnbend and
tether. Two daughters are deceased,
viz., Mrs. Wm. Mooney and Elizabetb,
the latter departing tbie life about 15
years ago. The subject of thin notice,
who wan in his 77th year, held adherence
to the Methodist ohuroh and wee a Con-
servative in politica. He was an indun. I

own affairs. The funeral takes plops on

Temperance drama was given to a larger

of Saturday evening were reprodcoed by
request and others added. The Story of
Blue Beard, the bad mao, was depleted
