PIONEER CALLED HOME. -An old and
highly esteemed resident, in the person
of John Crawford, of Wellesley town
ship,: County of Waterloo, was salted to
his reward on'rhursday, February, 16th.
Deceased, who was g8 years and to
months old, was born iu the County of
Donegal, Ireland, 1813, and came to
Canada, in the Spring of 2849 and land-
ed in Manvers township. in the: Fall he
moved to Wellesley and settled on Lot t,
Con. rt, where he spent the past Si
years. 10 1857 he was united in mar-
riage to Miss Sara Colvin, a sister of the
late George Colvin, of Brussels,- who
died 7 years ago. Mr. Crawford was a
member of the Methodist church for
over 8o years, belonged to the L. 0. L.
and was a staunch Conservative.' He
was out and voted at the last Municipal
election and never missed using his
franchise since he went to Wellesley.
Mr. Crawford was of a bright add cheer-
ful disposition, and possessed the re.
spect and esteem of all who knew him.
He always enjoyed life and never had a
doctor for the last 3o years, until his'
last illness, which was caused by a fall
a few days previous and despite all that
medical attendance could do death
finally resulted as above stated. He
survived by one son, Alex C., op'
homestead ; one sister, Mrs. J ^serf•

old friend.in the person of William Yeo,

85th year. He is survived by his wife,
to whom he was married' Si years and 4
sons (John, of Holmesvilte ; Wesley, of
Winnipeg, and formerly of Brussels ;
Ben., of Detroit ; and Nelson, at home)
and 3 daughters (Mrs. Yeo, of Regina ;
and Misses Mary Jane and Minnie. at
homey) Deceased was an old and highly
esteemed resident of o e i
em d e s G d r ch township
and was a faithful member of the Metho-
dist church for many years. The funer-
al took place on Wednesday afternoon.
