After spending two months in the
West H. and Mrs. McNaught have ar-
rived home and report a very enjoy-
able trip.
The,Trnstees of S. S. No, 0, have en-
gaged Frank Scott, of Seaforth, as
teacher for the coming year. Miss
Jennie Rands, the present teacher,
takes charge of a school near Clinton.
Last week the annual meeting of
the Bethel Sunday School was held
and Marshall Harrison, who has prov-
ed himself such a faithful worker, has
been re-elected Superintenclent. A
"Cradle Roll" has been organized in
connection with the Sunday School,

A. W. Robinson, son of Postmaster
Robinson, of Wroxeter, who has been
in the Government employ at Regina
for several years, has been moved to
Yorkton, Sask. He is a competent
employee and will climb the ladder to
the top we hope.

Miss Marjorie McOellnum, who has
been ill with typhoid fever, is improv-
ing nicely and will soon be convales-

Last Sabbath aternoon Rev. Mr.
Burnett, of Molesworth, took the ser-
vices in the Presbyterian church here,
the pastor being at the Jubilee service
at Bluevale. -
A new cement floor is being pnt in
the curing room of Ethel cheese fac-
tory and other improvements will be
added so as to keep the factory in
first-class shape.
The program for the animal Christ-
mas entertainment in eonne(tion with
the Ethel Methodist Sabbath school
is under preparation. It will be given

tertainuieut of St. John's church A.

ing. Her services are meeting with
great acceptance as an eloeutionist.
The regular meeting of the
Women's Institute will be held at the
home of Mrs. S. S. Cole on Thursday,
17th inst., at 2,30 p. m. All members
are requested to attend as plans for
the oyster supper in Jour, euro to be
made.

The last of the cheese from Ethel
factory for this year has been shipped
and cheques issued for the same to
the patrons, 11-13-100. was the price

Mrs. Ferguson and family cru here on
a visit to the doctor's parents, Mal-
colm and Mrs. Ferguson, of Beehive.
Dr. Ferguson has sold out his practice
in Ethel, mud: is going 'to take a post.
graduate course in Eiingland and Ger-
nnoay before he settles down again."
De. Ferguson has enjoyed a long and
most successful practice here and his
expectedretnnval will be greatly re-
gretted. His successor Dr. Blair is
inakiug himself quite at home among
us and we hope he and Mrs. Blair may
enjoy their home in Ethel.
A Missionary Banquet will be held
(D. V.) in the Methodist church Ethel
on Tuesday evening next, Dec. 15th
under the auspices of the Ethel Circuit
along the line of the new Laymen's
Missionary Movement, when Rev. J.
L. Stewart, B. A., B. D., returned
Missiouary from China and a former
pastor of the Ethel circuit will deliver
an address on the work in China. A.
free lunch will be served in the Town-
ship :Hall from 0 to 8. The music will
be in charge of the united choir of
Roe's, Union and Ethel chnreh„s.
Short address will be given by W. H.
Kerr, of Brussels, and local speakers.
Silver collection will be taken at the
church to defray expenses,
The local Ministerial Association con-
vened in St. John's Church school room,
Brussels, on Monday afteruoon with
Reeds. Messrs. Rivers, of Belgrave ;
Burnett, of Molesworth ; MacNab, of
Walton ; and Lang Ford and Powell,
of Brussels, in attendance. An' address
was given by Rev. Burnett on "Inspira-
tion' and was freely discussed. Next
meeting will he held on Tuesday, Jan.
5th when a topic of his choice will be
introduced by Rev. Mr. Wisher:, of
town.
