See his ad. -As a result of local option going into force on May 1st and the action of Commissioners in a number of places re- fusing licenses, nearly one hundred bars in Ontario were closed. -The regular monthly meeting of the W. C. T. U. will be held on Tuesday, May 13th, at 3 o'clock in the C. 0. F. Hall. All members are requested to attend. Every one made welcome. -The well-known Clydesdale stallion, "Maseott," owned by J. W. King, Blue - vale, will be at D. McPherson's stable in town until next Monday. Route in full will be published in our next issue. -The Mildmay Gazette which has been owned and published by Mr. J. A, John- ston for a number of years has changed hands. The new proprietor is Mr. J. Shefter, forinely of Mildmay, but who has of late been employed in North Bay. -Divisional camp atGoderich is to be held June 16 to 27, both dates inclusive. Arrangements of the divisional • staff to this effect will be submitted to the department for approval, and it is un- likely that any alteration will be nec- essary. -Statistics of communcable diseases • through the Province during the month of April, furnished by the local Boards of Health, show that measles is epid- emic in many places. There were $,- 422 cases reported during the month with 3 deaths. Last year, the number was 579 cases end deaths. AND WHEREAS the amount of the exist- ing debenture debt of the said Municipality, exclusive of local improvement debts secured by special rates and assessments, is 5147,2011of, where of there is nothing in arrears for princi- pal or interest. Therefore the Municipal Corporation of the Town of Wingham enacts as follows: - 1 The Municipal Council of the said Town of Wingham shall expend the sum of $5000.00, in addition to the auto of *6000.00 already provid- ed es hereinbefore set out, in improving the present waterworks system of the said Town, and in procuring pure water for domestic pur- poses; and fort the purpose of raising the said sum, debentures of said Town to the amount of e5950.00 as aforesaid in sums of not less than $100 00 each shall be issued on the First day of August. A. D., 1910: each of which debeuturea shall be dated on the date of the issue thereof and shall be payable within thirty years there- after at the office of the Treasurer for the time being of the said Town of Wingham 2. Hach of said debentures shall be signed by the Mayor of the said Town of Wingham, or by aorne other person authorized by By -Law to sign the same and, by the Treasurer, there- of, and the C:lelk shall attr eh thereto the Cor- porate Seal of the Municipality 8 The said Debentures shall bear interest at the rate of five per cent. per annum, payable yearly at the Office of the said Treasurer on the stet day of Augustin each and ecery year um reg the Cllr, eney there of. 4.
